I normally have swathes of these leaving my account on the first working day of each month and by this time of the day they've normally gone.
Just a heads-up that none are yet showing as transacted and yet the NW site is stating that all services are operating normally. Additionally my upcoming payments from this account is indicating no more are to be taken today and the 'available balance' indicates that none of todays planned withdrawals have been taken into consideration yet.
Others may be affected - although they may well transact later today - don't get caught out by drawing money out when you may have outgoings later today.
Ive contacted NW by secure messaging
A few weeks ago, when my husband and I went to a branch to open some current accounts, the opening accounts part of system went down , but the lady doing the 'paperwork' could get no information, either by internet or phone.
When we returned two weeks later, to complete the task, she told us that the problem had tuned out to be branch-wide and not just local, adding that there had also been a problem, since then, with another aspect of the setup, so perhaps they are having general system problems.0 -
All of my direct debits and standing orders have been processed now and are showing in my transactions.0

I pay by standing order from one NW account to my regular saving account £500 a month. However because of the issues it did not happen. So not being made aware of any problems first thing I just thought they forgot and did a manual transfer for this amount. I now find the normal standing order for £500 has been taken for credit to my savings account but so far not shown as being credited to the savings account yet.
However once there will need to transfer back because the max is £500 a month. Tried to get NW to stop standing order this am but said it was not possible.0 -
Sounds like they had trouble with their outward BACS ?0

No need to do anything, according to their T&Cs, any excess over £500 deposited into a regular saver in a single month will be returned.0 -
sort of on topic...
could someone here be so good as to test something for me? if you have a NW credit card.
for the last 2 days I have been trying to amend the direct debit on my select credit card only to keep getting a message saying they can't amend at this time and to phone CS. I am sure my DD was originally setup online and indeed amended since.
thanks.0 -

I set mine up over the phone when the account was opened, I havent had the need to change it as its for a set amount, but if it says call customer services maybe you cant amend the direct debit online with N/Wide.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. UPDATE
Well the £500 by their system went through later that day but the bad news they have made an error and sent it to an incorrect account number and now trying to locate this payment. You really could not make this up.0 -

Can you explain how it is that they made an error, when a SO is set up by you? I'm not saying they didn't, I'm just wondering what sort of error it could be.0
