Friend of mine had a Tesco Moto G4. The same problem 'ghost touch' appears after about an hour of use. Tesco tried and failed to fix it twice. All they do when returned is a simple factory reset and it appears to them to be fixed!

You can do this yourself but the 'Ghost touch' will probably return when it warms up or after a few days of constant use

After a lot of haggling they replaced it free with a Sony Experia as the G4 is no longer available

So my friend got more or less sorted out eventually but it was a hassle.

The phone was about 9 months into a monthly contract
