Yes we have Morrisons but not Ocado. I think we'd be able to cover everything from Aldi, apart from my Lactofree milk. I've made a very good list - all I need to do now is remember to take it with me. ;)

    Did an 8-day menu plan.
Did complete and extensive shopping list.
Went up to Aldi this morning at 8.
Found Aldi doesn't open until 9.
Had row with husband who swore they opened at 8.
Went to bloody Sainsbugs in a mood and got the shopping there.

  • :rotfl: Oh Mardatha. Still, having the plan and the list is a good beginning. I hope it is a tasty week of meals.x

:rotfl:Couldn't you just have had coffee and waited? :D:D.

Better luck next week - it's a pity there isn't a Lidl nearby. From Thursday they have a special offer. On :pKALE:p

They do actually do veggie stock cubes at Aldi--it is mixed in with the beef and chicken cubes in a green box but always seems to sell out very, very fast and then they wait for the beef and chicken to sell before putting out a new box.
I have never once seen them (just the meat based stuff) but will make a point of looking every week now. Seems bizarre that I can buy excellent soup ingredients there, but for the stock.

  • I still have half a box in my cupboard as I used on tonight in the soup but they are VERY elusive!

I buy the veg stock cubes from aldi too.... green box and mixed with the yellow and red meat ones... have a rummage and stock up when the green ones are there!!

Aldi don't do a lacto free milk but they do sell soya milk at very good prices and my daughter prefers it to the premium brands :money:

Aldi checkouts can be a nightmare.... they scan like lightening! I always mention my bad back and ask them to take it slower :o

we buy 75% of our weekly shop there usually..... I nipped to asda instead this week and my shopping bill was nealry £65 more  could of fainted!

A friend has just done this after her shop for a family of four was creeping up to £120 at Asda. It was also taking 90-120 minutes to go round a huge store over two floors.

She used the same list in Aldi, was out for less than an hour and spent £53.

She has now shopped there for 5 weeks and the savings are paying for a family weekend away as an end of school holidays treat.

Same here! We got our £300+ a month food bill for 2 people  down to £150 by switching from Sainsbobs to Aldi. It paid for our new windows in a year!

I second the soya milk recommendation. I buy the unsweetened one and I love it!

  • Our local aldi have recently started stocking almond milk which DS drinks and he says is better than al pro. Before that they just had soya milk. Not sure about lacto free will have a look next time I go.

re the vegi stock cubes - if I cant find something in my local aldi I ask the staff and they are very accommodating and look out the back in the store room to see if they have what I'm looking for.
