Thanks Aesop it takes a while to label everything up but I think it's worth it as in my local area they are only twice a year.
I was given a £30 lovetoshop voucher yesterday at work for 'uniform' we have to supply our own smart clothes. But I'm leaving my Saturday job at the end of October so I may use it for DH's birthday present instead. IT takes me over my total though so I'm very pleased that I have at last made my target. Third time lucky!0 -
Still gloomy and drizzly here:( so decided before I went to bed last night not to get up at 4.30 to go car boot selling this morning. Still managed to get woken up early though as pesky cat came in sopping wet and jumped on the pillow around 5.30 wanting to play . I don't like turning down the chance of a bit of extra money from any selling source but I'm definitely a fair weather booter and hate getting my stuff wet and blown about. There's always another day;)
Got an email from Ziffit this morning with an extra 10% on any transaction finalised for 24 hours so will see if I can find anything they'll accept. Never have much luck with them (any luck even) as my stuff is too mainstream and they already have copies of it.
Managed to list 17 things BIN on eBay yesterday, 6 already have watchers but no one has committed to buying. I still haven't bought a camera so need to list flat stuff that I can scan images of. At least it's all easy and cheap to post:j. Listed postcards, guide books and old theatre programmes and still have plenty more to go if I can find any enthusiasm. Won't make much even if they all sell but every penny counts and at least they'll be gone. Might concentrate on Ziffit first though as their special offer is only for today.0 -
:j:j:j Yay, result!!!
OH bought a couple of £1 scratch cards and a lottery ticket yesterday, He won £5 on one of the scratch cards and a Lucky Dip for 2 winning numbers on the lottery. I had to go to Morrisons this morning so he asked me to cash in his winnings.
I was gobsmacked when the assistant handed me £30 instead of a Lucky Dip ticket for Wednesday and the £5 I was expecting for the scratch card. OH had actually got 3 numbers up on the lottery and not just the 2 that he'd thought. Can't believe he was so careless in checking his numbers, he's really astute with money (unlike me:o)
Anyway, when I got home he split the profits with me so I ended up with an unexpected £15:j:j:j. That's twice in the last few days that he's given me money:eek:. He must be going through a mid-life crisis, except he's well past mid-life:rotfl:0 -
The month so far would have been a disaster had it not been my birthday last week and monetary gifts received! So far:
75.00 Amazon vouchers
30.00 cash gift
10.00 shopping voucher
25.00 lottery win
9.00 Sainsburys voucher
11.00 Prolific Academic cashout
Total = 160.00
Planning on doing some Ebaying to boost funds for the rest of the month.0 -
no more pennies to report - yet
but i am doing a bit of a mass list on ebay, as ive got an offer of max 1.00 in fees and free listings. so hopefully will have some more pennies at the end of the month - Only problem with me listng on ebay - is that i am massacring a large box of harbio gold bears (which i got on offer at the wholesalers along with 3500 tea bags) yum yum
Happy belated birthday Ella and well done with the lottery ticket CBC!Missing my money saving mojo.

Belated Happy Birthday from me too, Ella:bdaycake:
I hope everyone's moneymaking went well over the weekend, or, if you didn't make any money you managed not to have to spend too much;)
Sad to say, Ziffit didn't want any of my stuff. No change there then:(. So much for the extra 10% offer.
No buyers for any of my eBay items yet but some have watchers so I live in hope:)
Received money in my bank today from the 3 books I sold on Amazon over the past week. May have mentioned them on here already but haven't added them to total until today. That's £23.26 in all after fees so not too bad. Sold another cheapie one over the weekend but won't get paid until end of week.
Have a good week, all:beer:0 -

Have been listing more things on Etsy. It takes time to do but finger crossed it will be worth it in the run up to Xmas. I've even bought (yes I know) a super duper new set of electronic scales that are specifically for postage so I shouldn't get burnt on the p&p again. I think of it as an investment!
Got to finish my mystery shop phone calls this eve and get some eBay items on as that may be my last chances of hitting the target.0 -

Good Luck with your Etsy sales:beer:. Are they things you make yourself to sell? I wish I was talented in making things/crafts. My Mum could turn her hand to anything but sadly I didn't inherit any of her skills:o. OH is a very talented watercolour artist and sells most of the ones he enters in exhibitions etc. I keep saying I'll enrol in an evening class and learn to do something but with council cuts most of the non vocational classes seem to have disappeared:(
Don't feel bad about buying reliable scales:). I agree that they're an investment for someone who has to price the postage for a lot of stuff. They'll repay the outlay before you know it:T. When my last set of really old and used-to-destruction ones gave up on me and I was using some not very accurate kitchen scales I used to dread the setting postage prices bit of my listings. I've now got some new postal scales but they weren't very expensive. They had lots of very positive reviews so I thought them worth a try (plus, I couldn't afford anything more expensive:o) and so far they are a godsend especially for items which are just on the margin of price points.0
