Hi everyone , been looking at mattresses for a week or so now and I have narrowed it down to this one -
http://www.furniturevillage.co.uk/revive-opulent-cashmere-mattress/ZFRSP000000000003943.html
The specs are as follows .
Product Details
Hand crafted with care by master craftsmen
1600 hand nested pocket springs, each with 8 active turns
Layers of all natural British wool and silk
Traditionally hand tufted with hand side stitching
Covered in finest Belgian damask
Hypnos mattresses and divans have a 10 year quality guarantee
I have quite a bad back and feel like I have slept on a bowling ball most mornings , I bought a top of the range latex mattress about 3 year's ago , worst mistake ever as it's very firm .
I've been into a store and the above mattress was by far the most comfortable , it has the pillowtop and high spring count .
Saying that it also comes with a bit of a hefty price tag , I don't mind paying for quality , but is the hypnos brand all it's cracked up to be ?
I know they use them in premier inn's and I always have a good sleep there , I just want a good night's sleep with no discomfort , thanks for any advice .

If you've tried it and found it comfortable that's a good sign. However, it is definitely over priced. I would not pay that much for only 1600 pocket springs.
The "pros" of this mattress can be found easily elsewhere for a better price. Hand tufted isn't that rare. A damask cover is pretty standard.
The 10 year guarantee is good, however I doubt any mattress's ability to offer you the support you need for any longer than 7 years (if used every night). Wear and tear does happen, and it is detrimental to mattresses. I highly doubt that is covered under any guarantee.
But all of this means nothing if it's the only mattress you've found that is comfortable for you. But... trying a mattress in a showroom isn't the same as sleeping on it. So it's a bit of a gamble as to whether or not it upsets your back. You're right to steer clear of a mattress that is too firm though.Hi. Neither of these compare to the Hypnos.
1st one has horrible stretch knitted cover and it also contents memory foam.
2nd one doesn't even have standard UK sizes.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

Thanks for that , I did actually see a huge thread you were involved in the other day , I did consider hijacking or raising it from the dead , I'm trying to match this mattress up from other retailers but can't seem to find the exact same specs on anything else ?
Would you by any chance know what this exact model is called , as the store obviously call it their own name to stop people shopping around .0 -
1600 pocket springs is perfect. Beware mattresses that have far more than this as the springs are too small to actually act as springs, and are often made of plastic or even foam. You will find it is the cheaper makes that rely on customers who do not do their research being attracted by ridiculous spring counts.0

Without touching it, trying, pushing it etc... This is the closest that I can find.
It's from their normal catalog range so you should be able to google and find the cheapest prices.

Where are you getting your information from?
Foam springs or plastic springs I've never heard of such a thing. Octaspring maybe, but they advertise as actually being a memory foam spring. http://www.dormeo.co.uk/octaspring.html
Yes some makes are made with a very very short spring which is just replacing fillings with metal, i.e not much cop. Seen here.........https://www.trhayes.co.uk/harrison-regency-24750-5-0-x-6-6-zipped-linked-mattress.html
The little mini pocket on top is not worth while having and are only there to bump up the spring count. 24,750 just a stupid amount. On a recent factory visit I was shown a similar spring sample and it was just wibbly wobbly especially on the sideways strength.
Up to around 3700 is ok to a degree if the springs are near full size and double deckered.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -

Thanks for that , I actually missed this in time to make use of the info , I went to a more local large furniture store yesterday , a huge choice of beds on show , found a kingsize hypnos pillowtop 1400 / 8 spring reactive on sale at £799 with an extra £100 off , the salesman threw me a free hypnos pillow in , obviously I paid £50 for a second one , so all in £749 on interest free aswell , Think I got a pretty good deal compared to some of the online prices , thanks for the help pinky .0
