Hi all,
Hugs to those who need them X
Lainey - Good luck today, very empowering
Hester - What a shame, hope you can sort it out X
Nmic - Maybe you could start a hubby training course
Those of you that mentioned Osbourne House, it's less than 5 miles away from us and we havn't been since we were kids, why don't people appreciate what's on our doorsteps - must go again soon
It's our Anniversay today, and I have been spoilt with a huge bouquet of yellow roses and lilies - my fav's, posh chocolate and a bottle of our favourite single malt - also a cotton flannel, as it's our 2ndWe were going out for a meal tonight, but DH's best man and his wife have invited us out on Friday, so will wait till then - we go halves.
I'm taking the day off blogging, want the day for us, so have posted some kittens to keep readers entertained :A
Off to sort something special for DH - he's at work this morning
Take care all XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Morning everyone, another lovely day and reverse burgling soon to take place.
WEll done nmlc's DS.
LaineyT, savour the moment!
Hester, I really do sympathise, I think I'll possibly not ever get to retire, I'm not a single parent but we are a single salary family.
I'm off to the chiropodist later. Since I had bunion and hammer toe surgery on both feet (oh the glamour ) I may not ever manage a long walk as one foot has healed a bit wrong but the chiropodist will at least remove about 3 lb of horrible hard skin.
I went to bed early but then woke up at half past two, and get on with some knitting. I was planning to do some work but feel a bit tired now so will wait and see if I can muster up some enthusiasm this afternoon.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
Dog walked and washing up in the bowl ready to be done after JK (my guilty pleasure) WM is bubbling away and 1 load is already on the line the weather is looking good for the rest of the week so should get quite a bit done. Dinner tonight is pork strips ,potatoes and veg.
Hester Hope you can find a way to shorten the time left to work
Nmic well done to your DS

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one,
Well done to those who have had the exam results they were hoping for.
A bright morning, pity I do not have any laundry to do.
OH is up, says he feels so much better, I caught him messing about in the garden yesterday, blew him out of the water........he may feel better but he sure is not back to how he was 6 weeks ago. I really get tired of working my guts out for him and he then goes and does something daft and starts moaning he is tired.... he is tired, what the heck does he think I am?
Sorry, rant over. My lap top has done the same thing again and loaded a Microsoft programme I do not want, cannot get into any of my old programmes. Have rung the computer chap to come and sort it out again. I will ask him to show me how to get rid of it if it happens again. I think I might have to bite the bullet and get a new one, give the old one to OH.
Royal visit today, so need to tidy up and shove the dyson over the floors, I will be showing the lady round, so will put the best quilt on the bed when OH gets up after his siesta. I did put one finger up when the lady expressed surprise that the bngalow is detached. She lives in an Edwardian semi......
Right better get on, it would be just my luck for the lady to arrive before time, she likes to catch us on the hop, tough I weighed her up years ago. She will have to go a long way before she does that!!!0 -
Morning all,
Lovely bright day here again wm is on and doing its thing and it will be hung out, I think dd has loads too so will get hers done today.
Ive got a bit of roast beef for dinner tonight I got it reduced from£16 to £6 in Mr T on Saturday, I will do it with roasties and veg and Yorkshires will phone mum and see if she wants to come for dinner.
Need to continue with my de-cluttering today I did the bedroom yesterday so I am slowly working my way through the house, we have a huge pile for the charity shop which I need to start dropping off. Hopefully the lady will be here to collect the sink this afternoon.
Lovely Roger should be here to cut the grass and the front hedge which will tidy us up.
Have good days all xx
Good luck to the TA's xx0 -
The beautiful Osbourne House, definitely a place to visit and enjoy. Queen Victoria loved the Island and the peace so much, as do all the visitors. We go every year, and never tire of the place.Great if you have the puff to walk down to the private beach in the summer and sit in a deckchair and watch a real old fashioned Punch and Judy show enjoying an ice cream cornet.
My OH's Granny Bea who lived in Palance Lane Northwood, on the Island was in the crowd when the Old Queen Victoria died, and when her coffin was carried down to the boat to go back to Windsor for burial. A sprig of hebe fell off one of the wreaths, and she picked it up,took it home and potted it up.This grew into a larger plant which everyone in the family has had cuttings of.
I had three cuttings for myself off my Ma-in-laws plant for me and my children over 35 years ago and grew them all on.
My two DDs have their plants in their gardens, and when I moved house in 1995 I brought my plant with me .Its now settled in my garden and has its own space where its flourished into a small bush. Descended from the original cutting my family all call it our 'Queen Victoria' plant. To my knowledge every branch of my late ma-in-laws family have had cuttings from the original.
Last year when we went to O/H, as we do virtually every year I was talking to one of the staff, and he said how good it was to hear that we have kept the tradition of passing on a cutting down through the years since the early 20th century.
I have an EH ticket which means yearly we go to Carisbrooke, and O/H when we are on holiday.Never fails to give us as a family so much pleasure. The parkland is smashing with the mature trees to sit under, and the house has so many things to see.
Roll on next year when we go back to the 'Diamond Isle' again

I need to go to have a blood test this morning and will pop into the supermarket nearby for fruit and a few bits and bobs.
Nice weather so will put some washing in the machine and hang it outside later and then tidy up the kitchen. My breadmaker seems to be acting up so will try to make a rapid loaf this afternoon and see how that goes.
I tried out the teasmade I got for my birthday and the alarm does not go off - and no tea!!!!!! If things go in threes then I wonder what next will go on the blink.
Csarina
It must be so frustrating when you do everything to make sure he is looked after and safe and then he goes and over does things.
TA
Good luck with the hospital tomorrow.
I have some lean mince to cook later so might make a courgette lasagne and then portion it out and freeze it.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Hope 'the visit' goes well Csarina!!
Not a nice morning so far, one of my cats got their first catch this morning...a bird...so I've had to deal with that. The cats are 17 months old and I know it's nature and what they do but still not pleasant!
Taken a packet of mince out of the freezer and will be making lasagne for tea and serving with either salad or veg, depends how we feel later! And if feeling extra hungry/extravagant I may do a few homemade wedges too.
All stuff I had in and needed using up so all good there!0 -
I too loved Osborne House when we went to IofW in June this year. Planning to return next year.
Glorious weather down here in our little corner of Kent. Have just done raspberries in jelly for pud tonight, and had to do quality control as they went in...
Off out for cycle along the prom to Margate for an ice cream with friends later. DH doing dinner 😀
Thinking of you LaineyT and the feeling of power you will haveCarolbee0
