I would only trust what is on the govt MOT site.

If there is a delay in things appearing, then you could buy the car on the understanding that you require the proof of MOT (ie. on the site & not a printout).

The seller could re-MOT it or have it out with the garage as to why it's not been registered.
  • Quite simple really... See the car and mot certificate in person.

To accuse the seller of lying is outrageous! :T:T
If the seller wasn't lying why did they say in the description the car had new tyres but 2 days later go and get new tyres. I've asked the seller can they check the mot as it's not showing online and they have now said it's going in today for the mot.

They have been misleading, not what you want when you buy a car

Probably just someone who doesn't want to spend the money on the car until they have definite interest in it.

Like when dealers advertise "12 months MOT on all our vehicles", they MOT them when they are sold, not every day.

If you don't like it, don't buy it, if the description says "12 months MOT and 2 new tyres", if it doesn't have them, you don't have to buy under eBay rules.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

Advertise it as "12mo ticket and two new tyres", but make it clear that they'll be done when the deal's done.

Put a ticket on a car, and then advertise it - you've wasted a month out of the twelve by the time it sells.

Put a pair of tyres on a car, and then advertise it - you may find the buyer would have said "Don't worry about the tyres - I'd rather have a decent pair than budgets - knock £100 instead, and we've got a deal."
