Maybe your buyers dad will send you a crate by way of apology....wait, maybe not.
To me it sounds like daddys girl has never made a serious decision in her life, and is suffering severe angst about what she is taking on. I wonder who has paid her fees and expenses so far.
Anyway, best of luck OP, still hoping it goes ahead for you.0 -

Thank you so much
I am fascinated by the background ... Earlier in the process she asked to see my latest utility bills to get an idea of what the house might cost, and then called the agent to say the water seemed 'extortionate' and was that definitely my bill. We're on a meter and we pay £19 a month! I wonder if the bills on her rented place are included and she has a totally false sense of what real adults pay for things.0 -

We're paying £160k for the house we're buying. Clearly I am a secret millionaire.
I'm sure you know this, but tell the EA to let him know that millionaire or not, S/he needs to get on board or ride off into the sunset.
So is the expectation that you give this individual the property as you are financially able to -whether true or not? Tell your representatives to ask them to respectfully sign the line, turn out their pockets or be gone.
Why is your EA the mouthpiece for this motley crew anyway? Shouldn't they be earning the commission you are paying for this 'sale' and getting them to move things forward?
Never knew they had a sideline as a messenger service in these situations....0 -

Not posted on this thread before, but have been reading it since the start.
Just to say:
1) you are SO doing the right thing in everything you've said/done till this point
2) you are right not to get your hopes up that this will somehow get sorted by Daddy Weird and Daughter Ditherer
3) fingers, toes and everything else crossed that it either is sorted tomorrow or one of the other bidders is still keen and you get a quick solution.
No help whatsoever I know but just wanted to say none of this is your fault and you have the sympathy and best wishes of everyone on here.0 -

IMO thats very unfair on the EA. How do you think they could "move this sale forward" given such a pair of bozos? What exactly do you expect them to do other than explain teh facts and situation which from the OP, they have been doing.
Seems to me they've been earning their money dealing with them but there's a limit to how much you can help stupidity.
And of course they have a sideline in being a "messenger" thats part of the job, relaying information between all parties and chasing.0 -

This is lovely and I think you've just given me and my husband some new nicknames for the buyer and her daddy, which might just stick :rotfl: Thank you for the kind wishes:)

I say we make it a thread to come up with how to turn the tables on this pair of time wasters. :A:beer:
They're clearly so clueless a few faux invoices wouldn't go amiss. After being shouted at the last few days i bet even the agent would be game for it...:rotfl:0
