Want to join plusnet, Sky deal doesnt end till Oct 7

I want to take advantage of the plusnet deal before it expires on 31st August but my Sky broadband 12 month contract doesn't end until October 7th 2016. Can I join plusnet on August 31st but ask them to connect me on October 7th and still get the deal or would I not be able to do that?

Unlikely. Switches are normally actioned when the order is placed and take around 10 days.
Offers come up all the time, are you using top cashback or quidco?0 -

I'm not sure what you mean. I want to take advantage of the current top deal on Moneysavingexpert where you get the £75 cashback. Does that offer involve top cashback or quidco?
Also you say offers come up all the time, yet TalkTalk and plusnet both have good offers which are due to expire imminently, within days. If I don't find a good deal before Oct 7th I will be paying Sky a fortune for broadband.0 -
Deals come and go all the time. They're not a "once a year" thing.
BT for example almost always have an offer on of around £100 cashback through top cashback AND a £75-£125 prepaid mastercard when ordering online, depending on the package you go for.
Have you asked Sky for a retention deal given that you're considering leaving?
Either way, you're not going to be able to request a switch before the end of September otherwise you'll be paying early termination fees to Sky.0 -
Be careful about leaving sky early. Fees could be very high.
I think you can start process 14 days before the end date.
Yes check offers in your online account. They could offer BB for £2.50 month. + LR0 -
Why would you pay £2.50 per month when plusnet is free?
Skys EDFs are actually cheap0 -
don't just accept the online deals. Try ringing plusnet and explain the situation, I expect they will be able to offer you a good deal anytime. The cashback is a separate matter however.0

The offers are rather like those made by upholstery chains, where you have to accept 'now'. An offer may end,but it will be followed by another.
You will not have to pay Sky a fortune; give them a call, nearer the time and tell them what you are considering elsewhere and you'll be made an offer.0 -
Sky will probably goto about £25 a month if you do nothing.
Sky offer will probably be £2.50 + 17.50 = £20 if you lock in for 12m0 -
Sky's early termination charges are here.
Not sure of your exact package, but it looks like the charge would be £15 or less for the month or less by the time you switch (but do check).
The cashback sites don't always pay cashback in addition to cashback from Plusnet (Quidco has a warning when you click through).
When I used Sky broadband they did offer me a good deal to stay a couple of times but when they couldn't, I left. Could be worth a try.0
