He said I was wrong when I said this.They can drive it if their insurance allows it, however it'll still be untaxed.
Op if you're not going to tax it then you'll lose your surety.

So car sold and person wants to collect - leaves me with another query! I can't use the online DVLA system to tax the car - States I need to wait for my new V5 - Assume this has been put through the system causing the glitch?
The buyer has already asked for tax details and will be taxing at post office - obviously not today, being a Bank holiday.
Does the car just need to be showing as taxed for the surety to be released? Can find no indication it must be taxed by a particular person - surely if its taxed its taxed?!0 -
It will be taxed in the new keepers name though. You risk losing the money for the sake of getting the tax yourself. use the new keepers slip when you bought it?
