What is the cheapest, easiest way to get married? No fuss, no guests, just married.

I think we paid around £30 in 2003
Here now it's £88 weekdays and £279 Saturday's0 -
You will need to enquire at the registry office you wish to get married at as some may have a small room that they will use for small weekday weddings, for example my local registry office do a weekday wedding at a set time for up to 16 for £50. Plus you need to factor in giving notice which is £35 each.0

OP needs to start on the Local Council website for the area in which they live, as that is where they must give notice. That website should show all the charges. They can then see if they can get the ceremony itself any cheaper in another convenient area.

So it can never be popping in to an office and signing some papers with a witness? Even the most basic needs to have all the shenanigans of "do you x take y" etc etc.0
