Trundle bed mattress advice
Hi,
My niece will stay at my house for 1years as an exchange student. during her stay, she will sleep in my daughter room. On the trundle bed. The problem is, she is overweight (200lbs) and have a back problem so my sister give me money to buy her a proper mattress. She needs the firm one. My daugter room is very small, we can not let the trundle out all day else we will not be able to open/close the door. It's frankie bed from argos. The max thickness for the trundle bed mattress is 12 cm. Any idea which mattress will suit this?? i was thinking between malfors mattress from ikea or viscotherapy memorypedic dream kidz. But both mattress are for kids, i even read a review that malfors mattress is suitable for people under 140lbs. And that they should not be use as daily bed.
I talk with dd and she loves her bed and refused to sleep on the trundle. And i think it is her right to do so. She is akready willing to share her room i can't ask her more then that.

Could you put the mattress from the trundle on top of the main bed every day and roll the trundle underneath; moving the mattress again before she goes to bed on a night.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
DD sleeps around 7-8 every day, i doubt my niece will be sleep by then. She is a university student.0

No 12cm mattress will suit an adult with a back problem who is as overweight as your niece. Why not dispense with the bed and just have a mattress, then pull it out each night/push it back in the morning. It's easy enough to do especially if you have a non-carpeted floor (still possible on carpet, but mattress will slide more easily if you put it on a large sheet of plastic).Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Hi Apia,
Selecting a mattress for heavy people requires an extra bit of research and homework. Since obesity or overweight itself, possess lot of health threats to obese people, it is very important to choose the right and best mattress for heavier people. The normal mattress that you buy for yourself, won't support heavier people. So here's a few popular brands for heavier people, that fits in budget and meets your requirements.
Sleep Innovation's Sure Temp 2,5” thick memory foam mattress has a thickness of 12” and is one of the best mattresses for heavy people. It comes with a 20 year limited guarantee.
Fresh Breeze 12 inch gel memory foam mattress by Dynasty Mattresses are also considered good for heavy people. It provides very good support and comfort for heavy people.
Lucid's 14 inch plush memory foam mattress has 14 inch thickness of which it has 1 inch of charcoal memory foam at the top.
Sleep Master 10-inch memory foam mattress has only 10 inch thickness and comes with 3 layers of memory foam for comfort. There is no off-gassing in the mattress.
Apart from these, Loom and Leaf, Nest Alexander, Leesa, Saatva, Winkbed, Amerisleep Colonial are other brands that come with features of an ideal mattress for heavy people.0 -

there are drawers at the bottom of the trundle. They are full with dd craft things. And i don't really have place to store the trundle bed.0

Any of you have experiences with foam mattress cut to size ? i.e efoam.co.uk?
If yes, and it is a good one, which option should i choose ? High(firm), severe(extra firm) or reflex superior (firm)? And do i need to put some memory foam and coolmax cover?0 -
I have no experience with them but I'd say just go for one of the firms not "extra firm" as she's not heavy enough for that.
12cm is NOT thick enough for someone of her stature though. No way no how. I'm sorry but that's how it is.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards.
