Gatwick hotel with pool?

The OP [not in the case of this thread] often haven't clearly thought out their question or done any homework of their own. They might not have thought about the weather, the location, the length of time to travel, the costs, whether what they want to do is realistic in the time-frame. All sorts of stuff really.
And tbh it's often the case that questioning a question will bring more objective discussion into the thread. Of course, it sometimes goes the other way too.
Yeah, I understand all of the above (although sometimes that can come across as slightly patronising tbh)
But, equally, sometimes all someone wants is a simple answer to a simple question.
I'll be honest, there have been a couple of occasions when I have a question that I'm sure someone on here would have the answer to, but I'm put off asking it because I don't need a 3 page debate on why I want to do whatever it is first!Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -

Because they do! Different people like/want different things, who cares why? What does it matter? It's their choice.
If the OP had asked whether it was a good idea to look for a hotel with a pool, the question would be fair enough.
IMO
So you felt the need for then to justify them asking? :rotfl:0 -

No, just to comment on it
And I didn't mean to single out Ms Chocaholic personally, just the increasing trend in this kind of posting.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
OP
Apologies for straying from your question.
According to Tripadvisor there are 5 hotels with pools (although I would check the accuracy of this before booking)

I'd still ask the question, as the 3 pages of debate might contain a lot of useful stuff that I hadn't thought of. On the other hand it might not.0 -

I should think so too.;)
If I was the OP, and if I was driving to LGW, I'd also have a look a Leisure Centre on the way that'll probably have a decent sized and well maintained pool. For example...

You can't get much closer to LGW. Gatwick Central Travelodge is in Horley, and usually very good value.0 -
Interesting about the Crowne Plaza. I didn't realise that they had closed the pool.
From Jackieblack's post #15, the Copthorne Hotel (don't mix up with the Copthorne Effingham Park) will be use of the swimming pool in the sports club adjacent. I would personally avoid the Europa. It now has a terrible reputation.
There is a large Olympic sized swimming pool at the leisure centre in nearby Crawley. http://www.freedom-leisure.co.uk/centrepage.asp?section=13740 -
My 2p's worth............99.9% of people do not want or have need of a pool the night before a flight so why should the vast majority subsidise the 0.1% that want it.
Sorry OP if you don't like the reply.0 -

Sorry OP if you don't like the reply.
Commercial decision on the basis of the hotel, if they believe there is sufficient demand in terms of premium prices and/ or occupancy rates then they will include a pool. If not they won't.0
