No BT Fibre but neighbours either side have it

Hello, my query is fairly self-explanatory. Our new house seems to be wired for BT copper but not fibre despite every other house on the street having it. When I go to the BT postcode checker it says Fibre is available but when there's the drop down box to choose a house number every other house is on it except for our number which is out of sync at the bottom of the list under a line and when you choose it it says it's not available.
Any ideas how this could have happened and, more importantly, is there any chance we can get connected and, if so, how?
Thank you in advance.

Do you have an active phone line using the BT wires? Could be that BT database is inaccurate because it doesn't have a record of a valid line at your address. IIRC this was so for us when we had our BT line reconnected after many years of just Virgin. Once the line was reinstated, the database was updated and fibre was available.
The alternative is that there is no spare fibre capacity in the local cabinet.0 -
Are you saying that BT have fibre to the house either side of you . FTTP or that fibre is in the area FTTC .0

I'm in the same boat, worse in a way cos I have two seperate Bt accounts and lines in my house, and the one we use ( mums is the other one) says not FTTP is not available. Three houses on the box, the other two are getting FTTP, as can mum , just not our number0

Thank you. The previous owners have also had Virgin for many years. We were just going to sign up with Virgin as no one else offers fibre but would you suggest just getting a BT phone line first and then seeing if we can get BT fibre after that? we can get BT/Talk Talk copper.0

Hi, I'm saying that BT fibre is available to the houses on either side, in fact available to every other house on the road except ours.0

It's likely either just a records issue, or that there hasn't been an active BT line there for some time and therefore Openreach hold no data for the telephone line.0

What does the ADSL line speed say ?
Is it good enough to be stuck with for 12m+ ?
You maybe better off just going with virgin? You know what you will get, if you are after speed.
It will be more expensive to have a BT phone and virgin BB only. (if that was what you were thinking)
You calls maybe better value, if your going to use the phone though?0 -
Chances are once the line is activated, the checkers will update and you'll be able to get FTTC.0

The question was fibre to the house >>>new house new build?? Known as Fibre to the premises FTTP.Or the more common fibre to the roadside cabinet and copper wire to the premises . FTTC . The later is the norm and may have no connections left in the cabinet .0 -
It's not a new house as the previous owner had VM0
