Facing up and cracking on

Hi
£34,497 as a couple of DDs have come out. I realise the settings on my app were wrong so the DFD is actually March 2024. Really enjoying the 1% challenge as up to 9% already.
We're all done with the home improvements. We've got a couple of little bits still to spend but probably less than £500 over the space of the next 6 months, just some finishing touches.
This evening I will be making some Christmas presents with photos online as there seems to be a few deals out there and I want to make the most of them.0 -
I wrote some aims for the rest of the year at the beginning of Sept. The last one on the list is to win something so I've been trying to fit in half an hour of comping a day. Maybe it's not a good use of my time, I don't know. It seems to take me ages, maybe because I now look at them and decide if I want to enter them (I've won some random stuff in the past and I don't want the clutter/I'd rather someone who really wanted the item had it). I also must be part robot as I have to click on pictures of traffic lights or cars on the captcha things constantly.
It's been a good day moneywise I think.0 -
I've been paid and we had about £400 in our account before that so have made a debt payment of £230 to make one of our cards a nice round £4000. It's the next card I'm going to tackle with the 1% challenge so it is nice that by the time I get to it it will begin with a 3.
We spend everything on a points card and pay it off in full each month so I find it very hard to know how much spare money we have. I think if I always just look at what we have at the end of the month it might be a good way to do it.0 -

Thank you!
It was great to pay off over £1000 in a month!
All my DDs have gone out and paid a cheeky tenner to debt 5 to bring the total debt to £32, 999.70. Wish I could be under £30k before the end of the year, shame there's not a couple more months! Nevermind, it's all moving in the right direction.
Loving the 1% challenge. Paid off 32% towards debt 2 since starting it.
Started a positivity journal last night as have been feeling low. I went on to a second page as there were so many things - that's a good sign!0 -

Debt 4 £10218.57
Debt 5 £3440

So that's about £1200 paid off in a month. My husband did some over time and we sold something for £200 which is where the extra came from, our DDs come to £736).
Extra money seems to dry up in Dec and there is the Christmas spend. It's not the gifts that cost us, it's the eating out and food. Plus loads of things going on at school, a fiver here and there to chip in on the teacher's present etc.
Still, we have so much flexibility and are very comfortable so I know we are really lucky. The past couple of months we've paid over £1000 but I know this month we just won't. We can still meet the DDs that are set up. We will endevour not to spend too much money on food at home and to treat ourselves with film nights on the sofa and home cooked food.0 -

Haven't updated in a while, everything is on minimum payment now but that is just over £500 coming off each month. It's nice to see it going down. We've been saving though during lockdown as we didn't know what would happen and we've saved quite a bit which is great. If we come out of this financially ok then we'll pay it off the debt.
