Massive "U" Turn for Hermes Parcel Sizes

On the myhermes complete list of parcel prices page it says today:
***Please note***
We’re in the process of transitioning from a weight-only pricing model to a combination of weight and size. This will enable us to offer more competitive pricing across our customer base. You can take advantage of the new pricing using the main “Send a parcel” flow now.
The new pricing model will roll out to the integrations (eBay, Amazon etc.) and the Quick Send function in the near future. Until then, customers using these methods will continue on the existing weight only pricing.
This is exactly how I read the original e-mail. Also if you buy labels via downloading from Ebay the labels print as normal. However if you buy a label via send a parcel now you are asked the size and the parcel label has <2kg (s)0 -
This made my smile- apologies for the cut and paste from the MyHermes facebook page:
from a 'regular' sender \;
Not happy about the new postal sizes as all my parcels are 30cm (L) x 30cm (w) x 13cm (H) so i cant use small parcel because you are saying it can only be 16cm (w) surley it should be 16cm Height
Basically the response was 'then turn it the other way round and it fits our small parcel rate!'
You really have to worry about the logic of some people
EDIT: there is a very similar moan on the ebay community boards where someone can't work out that merely by turning their parcel round it fits as a small parcel.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. one last thing,
These boxes fit the new size limit:12x9x6 inches (305x229x152mm)

buying 100 makes them 29p each which I think is quite good for that quantity.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It speaks volumes about a company when they make what is quite a large change and the IT needed to implement it lags behind. One of the following must be true, they make knee jerk decisions and worry about the IT later, or they are just simply rubbish at IT. This means when you beak it down, they are either rubbish at management or rubbish at IT.
Considering the announcement I posted stating a month earlier they were pleased to offer different sizes for the same price, I expect, it's **** management AND **** IT.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Fed up with Hermes. Would love to take my little bit of business away from them. Is there any other courier option around the same price?0

You can try ipostparcels.com run by UK mail. The only thing is they add a collection charge, so you need to send a few in one go to offset the charge. They also are only cheap if sending small parcels0

I linked the Hermes and eBay account so that you can import deliveries. I think it only works if you had the item advertised as Hermes in the first place. (which I did) As stated above it still gives the flat rate prices.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. It works if you don't too. I just have other courier listed as sometimes I still send them by Royal Mail if the item does not sell for much. I am still getting the old sizes by importing.0 -
It still seems to import from eBay on the old sizes / prices. Has anyone else noticed this? This is despite some of the other loop holes being closed?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Yep, I noticed that- yet I had an email from them about 10 days ago saying that the prices had now been adjusted for items imported from ebay etc. Still the old prices though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
