On 28/06/16, Hermes sent out an email to all their customers stating: "At myHermes we believe you should be able to send more for less."
"That's why we make it easy for you to send a small, medium or large sized parcel* within each of our weight categories for the same price."
Then on 15/08/16, a month and a half later, a new email announcement was sent, "Update to the myHermes parcel sizes" ...
"We would like to make you aware of important changes that we are making to our weight bands.
From 00:00am Wednesday 17th August, we will be combining our 0-1kg and 1-2kg weight bands, this will mean that you will now be able to select if you are sending a small or medium parcel."
And a small picture just below showing some graphics of a small parcel which measures no more than 45cm length, 35cm Depth and 16cm height.
This will particularly affect sellers who sell items just over the Royal Mail small parcel - 16cm limit, and send with Hermes or sellers who spilt mail by size to send with different mail firms or couriers.
When entering your parcel size, you will be presented with two new options "0-2kg Small" and "0-2kg Medium" alongside an icon of a parcel confirming our small and medium parcel dimensions.
If you are sending parcels which weigh more than 2kg there will be no change to the process.
The price of a small parcel 0-2kg will be £2.75 Parcel shop or £3.10 Courier,
The price of a medium parcel 0-2kg will be £3.95 Parcel shop or £4.30 Courier.

Goodness, I haven't got that email - thank you for posting. Lots of my items are currently priced to go MyHErmes up to 1kg and I'm going to have to go through them all to decide what to do.
Sneaky of them to match the RM sizes- I am going to have to re order my small parcel size boxes as I basically stopped worrying about size when I switched to MyHErmes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Still no email here- the last time they changed prices I didn't actually get my email until about 2 days after. Looking at their facebook page it appears I'm not the only one who hasn't been formally told yet- those that have seem mostly cross about the change.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My recent sales have all been small and heavy, so I think I'm one of the lucky few who'll be better off0

Actually it is about the same here. Out of approx. 550 current listings I have only actually had to change 8, however I do have a few where I will have to be more careful with the size of my box rather than just use whatever I have to hand. I've also de listed a few bits and have added them to my charity box stuff as the low value of them and the packing doesn't really warrant adding an additional £1+ to the cost.
I have ordered new boxes that fit the size for small parcel and am rushing now to get a couple of bits packed that I've sold that are easier in big boxes, I intend to do a second run to the shop later this afternoon, I've already done one today.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm still trying to figure this out. What if a parcel weighs less than 2kg but is larger than the medium size limit? Will I have to pay the 2-5kg price?0

I was just in the middle of posting about the upper size limit for a medium parcel - I bet a number of people will overlook it. It does appear that the size limit will stop larger flat parcels as it quite clearly says:
If the size exceeds the small parcel, you can opt for the medium parcel category, with maximum dimensions of 61cm (L) x 46cm (H) x 46cm (H).
then goes on to talk about heavier parcels- it isn't terribly well explained but I read it as suggesting that if it is too big for a medium parcel then it must go as a parcel over 2KG, but it is very badly worded.
This would have affected me when I had a very strangle line of African tribal masks and shields as they tended to be light, under 2kg, but longer than the new allowed limit.
It is very poorly worded though
arghhh, just had a thought about a handful of items I listed last week during the free 50,000 offer- yep, 65cms long without wrapping so back to Royal Mail for those.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They could have easily set their width limit at something close to 16cm but slightly larger (say somewhere 18 - 22cm) thus creating a lucrative niche for themselves. But instead they are saying we're going to compete on exactly the same sizes as Royal Mail giving you a stark choice between the two. This is actually a surprise to me, because the very reason I used Hermes was for those similar, larger sizes (near but not quite category) and now, I'm left thinking, is it worth it, for, yes tracked, but left on the doorstep service.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. If you import your orders from Ebay to My Hermes website the old pricing structure still applies. Also our courier told us today that if you use a third party website such as Parcel2go you still get charged the old rates.
Not sure how long the above will last but when I imported my orders from Ebay it only asks for weight (with the old weight bands) and no option to select a parcel size.0 -

Somewhere buried in the MyHermes small print regarding these changes it states that people importing their parcels from places like ebay /Amazon must temporarily re check the sizes and if they don't conform then they need to do them manually via 'send a parcel'. I assume that even if something sneaks through it will be picked up and charged at a premium later.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. On the myhermes complete list of parcel prices page it says today:
***Please note***
We’re in the process of transitioning from a weight-only pricing model to a combination of weight and size. This will enable us to offer more competitive pricing across our customer base. You can take advantage of the new pricing using the main “Send a parcel” flow now.
The new pricing model will roll out to the integrations (eBay, Amazon etc.) and the Quick Send function in the near future. Until then, customers using these methods will continue on the existing weight only pricing.
