Does anyone want to join me waiting to find a house to buy?

Thanks kitten,
No I definitely wouldn't want to sell any less than 5 years after buying, so if my career moves me is there not an option to seek consent to let under a residential mortgage whilst I rent somewhere else myself for a short time before I could move back?
I have no concept of how often lenders allow this. There are many thousand others accross the UK who work in my profession so I can't be the only one with this problem!0 -
Really want to move to Cromer on the North Norfolk coast but can't find anything suitable. Having said that, ours is on the market and not shifting so we're not in a position to offer anyway... Just seems like life is on hold at the moment!
We're looking around the Runtons/Cromer/Sheringham/Bacton/Happisburgh area too! But we want land and outbuildings. Nothing yet. Benn looking since last August!0 -
Consent to let isn't too tricky to come by but being a landlord scares me. Depends if you're up to it xLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138000 -
I've been surprised/dismayed how much prices have risen in my area (North Yorkshire ) in the last 12 months. Things I could have afforded this time last year are now out of reach. I'm hoping that things don't sell at those prices but they do seem to be. Bit depressing.[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000

Damn. One back on market yesterday which I really like the look of. Not really in a position to buy it yet
Will do some ringing around today to see if we might be able to get out of the mortgage deal early...

What is your budget? Ours is £250k so we are looking only at Beds as Herts is too expensive. There doesn't seem to be much on the market at the moment at all but we've only been seriously looking for 2 or 3 weeks.
Hi Suzie,
Same budget as you actually (we have Help to Buy ISAs and looking to avoid the higher tier of stamp duty).
It's quiet at the moment but I've drawn a map on Rightmove of both Sandy / Biggleswade in Bedfordshire to alert me every 24hrs. You should do the same, price is right out there.
This may put us in direct competition though0 -

Estate agents systematically delay replies to buyers to try and encourage them to come back with higher prices. You don't get many people viewing on Tuesday morning so my instinct would be to try and switch off and leave it to them. If they haven't got back to you by Thursday, maybe book another viewing elsewhere with the same agent.0 -

Agent phoned back, they visited the vendor this morning, which is what I thought was a viewing. They put forward our offer and that of somebody else in an unproceedable position which was higher than ours. We've now agreed on £10K under. The option of booking viewings elsewhere with the same agent wasn't an option for us, it's a one-off property and over 100 miles away.

Well done Slinky, that's great news! I'm so envious!
Had the EAs I viewed with over the weekend phone me today but we didn't want to offer on any so there wasn't much to say really! The too small house but in preferred location has now gone under offer. If they got full asking like the agent implied at the weekend I seriously need to face reality that preferred location is out of our league.
|The house that needs major work and has been on the market for 4 months (EA advised us to put in cheeky offer!) has reduced the asking price by £5k. It's still £30k more than we would have offered! But we've talked ourselves out of it anyway because too much work and not in the best location.
