Does anyone want to join me waiting to find a house to buy?

Now considering other areas as not finding anything in the area i want. HAVE to find somewhere in the next month - am going out of mind where I am. Why is it, when you have the savings and are ready there are just no suitable properties. This time last year there were more properties coming up.
Hope others are having better luck
That's such a shame do you think you could get it for a reduced price and do it up yourself?Recently married and loving it x0 -
Going to see a few houses on Tuesday. 2 of them are do-er uppers and about 30K (10%) overpriced but nothing is selling so it might be worth a low offer. Still not seen the "perfect" house yet, but one of them is backing onto the school where we want our kids to go, so it ticks a big box for us, even though we don't like the style of the house and the garden isn't as big as we'd like, they might have to be our compromises, seeing as every "perfect" house we've seen has been in the wrong area!0

the garden was overlooked by neighbours (extension and juliette balcony)! so was a no for me, regardless of (any) potential of house. Hoping summer picks up a bit and new properties come on market! Also, why is it that estate agents only contact me about properties on the market for months and months! argh...slowly learning that estate agents are not your friend.,lol0 -

Can't stand estate agents! You think you've met a nice one, and then some showstopper transpires that they were hiding from you all along, or they tell you that they're doing you a big favour by letting you view a property because there's an asking price offer on the table, when there clearly isn't! Most of them are very fickle in the morality department!0 -
I had one of those last week...EA phones up all excited. Got a great property, I want to book you in for a viewing right away. Having fallen for that already I just got her to email me the details. Not only does it not match our criteria, it's over budget by a fair bit and been on the market for ages...at least a few months.
We got our current house before it got on right move last time. But most houses were snapped up then. It was tough. Now there just seems to be so little about. Looking back at the history, about one house every 3 or 4 weeks is being listed in our preferred area. Doesn't seem like much. Maybe it just feels worse when you're looking.0 -
Hi all,
Well after 2 years of saving, finally getting in a position to by our first family home, we now see ourselves priced out of the market where we live. Nothing more we can do, other than hope for a house price correction in the coming months (doubtful this will happen).
So we are no longer looking to buy (this year anyway). I really don't know what else to say, we are gutted that no matter how hard we work and save, house price growth outweighs what we save/earn. Oh well, here's to plenty more years paying someone else's mortgage. Good luck to everyone, and I hope you all get the home that you want0 -
I agree I hate estate agents!! We have put an offer in on a property but we haven't got an offer on ours yet so they haven't accepted. The EA just talks rubbish oooo we have loads of interest, i'm just ringing people to get more offers in this morning...... :mad:Recently married and loving it x0

Just recently come over here as sold, but as if by magic all the ones we would consider have sold. We had 4 viewings and 2 have sold, one we didn't like and one is ongoing (offers over so might get silly). Just want to get something sorted now..but I guess you never know what's round the corner!0

The same thing has happened to us, while we were getting ready to sell there were one after another properties we loved coming on the market. Now there is nothing! Well just one we thought was our dream house but when we viewed it was an actual nightmare house :eek:0
