I have a Bose Mini 2 that I use with an Ipod Classic using a cable with standard 3.5mm plugs. I imagine a CD player could be connected in the same way.

I tried using a bluetooth adapter in the Ipod but it was too unreliable.

Thanks. As I'm new I can't quote your links, but saw them, but I need this before saturday. Why on earth I roped myself into providing the music when I don't know what I'm doing I've no idea, lol, I knew I needed new speakers for playing music at home and thought those bose ones would be perfect, lol

Yes it will. Jst order then charge it through your PC/Laptop {it comes with a charging usb cable} plug into CD player then follow the instructions I quoted. You will more than likely {depending on speaker model need to charge that as well {same situation as the transmitter} then enjoy many happy hours of your favorite tunes :0)

    ^THIS^

You don't need a bluetooth adapter for the Bose speaker. All you need is a £1 lead.
An adapter is *seriously overcomplicating* the basic requirement to listen to your portable CD player!

You plug it into the headphone socket of your CD player and it transmitts to the bluetooth speakers.
    Hope this helps

I don't know anything about bose speakers, but if you are plugging a transmitter into the headphone socket of the CD player, then you have a digital to analogue conversion happening in the CD player's audio output, then an analogue to digitial conversion happening in the transmitter, and then another D->A conversion happening at the speaker. Are you still going to preserve enough quality to justify the cost of high-quality speaekers ?

I'm not sure what protocol bluetooth uses for audio. Is it mp3, or just a waveform ?

Why would you want a cable across a floor/room when a transmitter can allow you to listen to music with no risk of damage?. All of the speakers I have {bluetooth or standard} have the inlet to connect an audio cable, if I want my music close by on a table/bench ect I can/do use that set up but if I have friends around I can place my bluetooth speakers anywhere and use the transmitter that way no risk of anyone tripping over them.
It's fine if you want everything close by but even though I have up to 10 meter audio cables it very seldom is used :0)

It has a 3.5mm jack so if you have got a CD player or one of the old portable ones you can buy a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead to play it through. Amazing speakers!

What do you currently play the CDs through, speaker-wise?

Or do you listen permanently on earphones?
