I'll start a collection for the OP so he can get his money back.
It's £1.49 just forget about it.0 -
Many, many years ago I bought a TIME pc and was told that with the 6GB harddrive I would never need to buy another pc. To date I have had to buy a couple of laptops/PC's with a min 1TB harddrive for the things I do online.
Can I take that salesperson to court for not telling the truth as that pc cost over £200?? ;0)
lol, very good answer:rotfl:0 -
So it's not exactly the same app? It is a new and improved version? And it's free? I'd be annoyed if the old one stopped working AND was expected to pay for the new one, but the new one is free so there's nothing stopping you using it surely? You used the app that you paid for, for a year, so I'd say you got your money's worth. Some programs are licensed for a set amount of time, like Microsoft Word and anti-virus etc, and you don't get newer versions unless you are a paying customer.
For apps there are often free updates and upgrades of the original version. The company probaby decided hey'd make more money (from advertising or whatever) if they offered the app for free than if they charged a small amount for it. If it only generated a few thousand pounds in revenue, that's small fish compared to advertising revenues!
No harm in writing a letter to the company and converying your annoyance that the app you paid for no longer works and you want a refund instead of a free version. They might say no, or they might say yes, it's up to you how you spend your time.

It was a program designed to be used for a specific period of time (the 2015/2016 football season) and as this season has now ended, so has the app.0 -

I have some old 78 rpm records (any youngsters will have to look these up!), some of that music is now available via Amazon free downloads so by the OP's reasoning I should now be able to get a refund on the original cost price? I'm guessing you're younger than me (57) as I don't even consider the 26 years ago that I bought my first PC to be "many, many", although the massive 20MB hard drive is probably past it's best now, wherever it is (as is the 5 1/4 " floppy drive, although it did have a new-fangled 3 1/2" too). :beer:0 -

Sorry but incorrect, we had our 53rd wedding anniversary earlier this year but tech was not something I got into until a YOUNG friend of mine said I may get some fun out of it and apart from a few situations where people online did not understand my sense of fun I have learnt a lot:)0
