Advice - car accident

Just accept the fact it'll be 50/50 and it's going to cost you. There's little you can do about it now.0

The older markings are better - the newer ones are a recipe for disaster and would be ringing major alarm bells with me as soon as I saw them.
Nonetheless, from a simple road marking point of view (and insurance companies may well take a different view) I would agree with the OP that they are not at fault. The car following the red line in the original image would have to have crossed a broken line to get to the OPs car. That broken line is a give way line (as are all broken white lines on the road) - it is a lane change in effect - that has been done without appropriate care and observation.
However, could the OP have avoided the incident, then yes, classic case of an incident that didn't need to happen. Always try to avoid having another car alongside you on a roundabout, and if you do have to have one there, watch it like a hawk (especially if it is to your right).0 -
I am very familiar with this round about. The old layout was awful, so many accidents. Since it has been changed that's the first one I've seen. I would agree the OP was not at fault0

Sounds like the daft bat didn't even notice the new traffic lights and tried to negotiate the roundabout in the same way she has for the past 40 years. Typical woman, but the woman is always right and it's the man's fault for being in the way.
Sounds just like my bloody mother :mad:0
