Well took the car to the garage this morning and it seems to have got worse on the way there. It was heavy traffic on the way so didn't go very fast, probably only 30 max. tried to engage neutral and it made a horrible noise so had to park it up in gear. Not felling confident at all now having driven it.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I think that's just ruled out a shifter alignment problem.0

Apparently it's something internal but what they don't know. I only found that much useful information by ringing them, they are supposed to be ringing me back but as it's now 6:25pm I don't think I will hear from them today.Nothing to see here, move along.0

Something internal like the teeth stripped as I mentioned?0 -
I imagine, being the AW box, it'll be something like brake bands needing adjusted.0

Well they drained out the oil and found bits of metal. I went in yesterday and got given the bad news that it would probably cost 2.5K to fix (gulp) I wasn't too happy to say the least but then at 2pm today they phoned to say Kia were going to pay the full cost of the repair!!
Makes having a full dealer service history worth the money.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -

Kia going to pay in full?
Is it still under warranty?
That's a result and does seem to show that people who state the Kia Warranty is a gimmick are barking up the wrong tree.
Good result.0 -
Warranty run out last October so it is out of warranty but give them top marks for doing this I never expected it. Good job we had a full dealer service history.Nothing to see here, move along.0

So a goodwill payment.
That is generous and a result.
I wonder if it could be a weak spot with the box?0 -
That's impressive. Not like it's just a few weeks out of warranty either!0
