I have told them all it is never going to happen.
End... of.....story.......
Of course the delivery turned up while I was getting the kids.
I went and asked the men next door if they would take possession for me, they did.
4 minutes before I got back! I know because the delivery man sent a text to say it had been delivered. 4 flipping minutes!! So glad I caught the man next door just before I drove off, I saw him coming down the street. I dislike Y0DEL.
I have made pastry and turned it into pasties for lunchboxes tomorrow. I have drinks, but that is it. Will have to buy a multipack of crisps on the way to school tomorrow. No cake because they have eaten all the sugar. Will have to do the shopping tomorrow. Will head into town first to spend my free M&S £5 + £2 vouchers from my M&S credit card bribes. And..... my whole 50p voucher from H+B ye olde health food shoppe. The dates on them are quite short, so I need to get a move on.
All the kids are off in their rooms or next door on the computer. Nobody to talk to. Not until DH wakes me from my slumber at probably 11pm.
The wind be rising! The rain is back on. It is all pretty autumnal 'round here.
Cannot be faffed to put up the cubes or the headboard tonight. I am going to have a lemon drink in an hour and a cup of tea and lie on the sofa and possibly moan a bit. There is nobody here to hear me. I am feeling pathetic.
Might be time to hit the competitions pages.....4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm glad I no longer have to scour for reduced papaya all the time!

Luckily I have no problems saying "No" to my children.
They have not bothered with Mr Russian Hamster since he bit them. Surviving hamster is now nearly 2 years old. I knew it would happen, but still it is disappointing. They are not getting another pet. Next pet I get to choose as I am the one who ends up looking after them.
Right. DH is somewhere south of Chesterfield - lots of delays probably due to this wind and the flooding yesterday, so he should be home tonight.
One last cup of tea and then bed. Tired tonight.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hope you're feeling better today f0xh0les
I've never really got the wisdom of hamsters as pets for children (coming from someone who also had one). They're nippy little blighters and nocturnal. Not the best combo.
The Russian ones are very sweet, I toyed with the idea of getting one but feared the cat might take the 'toying' bit somewhat literally given the chance. I don't want actual reenactments of Tom & Jerry going on in the house.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Russians are much less friendly than Syrians, apparently, but I think our Russian is simply anti-social. He is gorgeous, but he hates us. He runs ALL NIGHT LONG in his wheel. It practically shakes the house! Very fit, but not friendly at all, unless you put the hoover on, then he comes out to watch. He loves the hoover.
It would be cat tv. Not sure the hamster would appreciate it though.
DS1 left his lunch behind this morning, had to go deliver it. Twit. The school must think I am a total clutz.
Not in the mood for anything today. It is raining.
Step gran has been on the phone this morning to ask about the home insurance I got for her (because she would not do it herself), and wanted to know if a tree on her property but outside the perimeter fence fell onto a passing car on the road, was she liable and how much would she have to pay.
The tree lost a branch in the high winds, you see, so now she is worried, so after a quick very apologetic phone call to a lovely naval man with a tricorn hat, I was able to tell her she had £2 millon cover. And the same again if a tile falls off her roof and kills the postman while he is on her property.
Anyway, she has arranged for someone with a chainsaw to come cut it down as soon as the winds pass. Probably for the best.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi foxholes. Could you let me know the name of the community orchard you visited please? I went to one near me but the trees weren’t mature yet and there’s a few in your town. Don’t mind driving over but would be good know I was going to one with some fruit :rotfl:

It is in Brocks Hill Country Park on the Oadby/Wigston border. Drive in and park. With the leisure centre on your right, take the first entrance on the right through the hedge, apple trees to the front, left and right of you. About 20 feet in.
Everyone goes left toward the visitor centre and play area, you are going Right through the small gap with the little footpath and a wooden gate. Not sure if you can see the gate if it is fully opened.
Was talking to someone who said you are allowed to take a big shopping bag full (how on earth they police this I do not know!) Not sure if it is per person or per household or whatever. Fill your boots!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Also on the main University campus they have planted Walnut trees- should be ripe about now, and there are some apple and pear trees there as well. Right in the middle of the campus in big raised pot affairs. on the main pathway between buildings.
There were signs there last year saying something along the lines of "take me! take me! but dont be greedy". Unsurprisingly only the foreign students were taking advantage of this.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Ohhh, I have run past a few pear trees and now totally forgotten where there are...what a twit (not in your area sadly, the orchard sounds amazing).
I read somewhere that it's actually beneficial for trees and bushes to have their fruit picked? Not sure if this is accurate or not.
Dreich old day here today, was supposed to be dry til the afternoon but started raining at 10, it's on for the weekend so I might do a little baking later am done generally potter.
I guess if some giant hand tried to pick me up I'd be tempted to nip it too so can understand hamsters doing so.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thanks so much. Well and truly filled our boots :rotfl: and have you a virtual wave on the way past :hello:
Just need to do something with them now. I can’t believe how many were there and wished I was about 3 foot taller to get the ones at the top which looked huge, red and juicy.
Can see an annual trip coming on
Wonders off to investigate chutney recipes...0
