Owwww to the head banging, I too have done similar when painting. I find sticking with a wobbly chair a far better option, as getting carefully onto it so as not to topple and break ones neck, also means you realise the door jam is above you before cracking said head...or at least the motion of cracking ones bonce is slower and less painful.

I too am amazed at your energy. You continually inspire / remind me of things I need to get done...mine are not always quite at the same pace as you though.

I have remembered the community orchard in the local country park...

i feel a scrumping coming on.

Mostly fuelled by a desire for crumble.

Well, it's not my tree, and I am not paying for it, so I think, although I will leave my stripy top and eye mask at home, it is definitely scrumping (sounds better than foraging).

I only found it last year, and so far I have not found anyone else who knows about it - I just get a blank stare and a what?? when I mention it.
The mums at school think apples only come from T0scos and you are in danger of poisoning if you eat from the hedge.

I found a great country park down the back of a little shopping village/farm shop / garden centre in Evesham - I think it was called The Village ( no it was called The Valley), it is a place where coach day trips go, we stopped off on the way to Cheddar in search of loos. Just behind it was a whole orchard. We left with our empty picnic boxes filled with apples and plums and greengages, the whole place was dripping with fruit, the only people there were dog walkers who looked at us like we were insane. Why is it suddenly so suspicous to pick fruit off a tree?
    I dunno.

Found half a punnet of cherries hiding in the back of the fridge, so while DS3 made mini doughnuts in his plug-in doughnut maker, I made an apple and cherry crumble which is in the oven now, and I still have a shopping bag full of lovely apples, all different types, as I took a few from each tree, except the ones that were stripped bare - must have been the cooking apples, lots of windfalls that were perfect, so they all came home with me.

Picked up a mattress topper on the way past 4rgos - I ordered it yesterday.

So now is tea and a mini doughnut before thinking about lunch. Pudding is sorted!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL..... THIS IS NOT A DRILL....

ALL 4 BOYS HAD BATHS AND HAIR CUTS AND WERE BACK AT HOME BEFORE 10.30am.

I think we must have been invaded by aliens.

Going to have a quick tidy round, stick a load of towels in the wash, and get on with making up PE bags and naming wellies.

Watched a few kids standing at the bus stop, not sure if they had the right day. It is the kind of thing my parents would have done. They had the wrong time and day for everything. Probably why I am so organized with my diary.

Have you checked your boys haven't been replaced by cyber boys, Doctor Who styleee?

When do they go back to school? The ones you saw at the bus stop may have been doing a staggered intake? I remember my school used to have year 7 / 11 / 12 start on one day as they were newbies, or starting key exam years, and then the others started the next day. Could also have been a private school? The ones round here tend to break up earlier and start back sooner than state schools.

Well so far today myself and OH have wrestled one of our sofas into the garage with only a few cross words. Naturally I had to do the 'to me to you' all the way (rip Barry :() so now we have our little sofa looking very odd in the living room all on its own until hopefully the new ones arrive in a big blue and yellow van tomorrow.

Upside is that I can clean the bay window while trying not to balance on the little sofa to do it. Hhhhmmmmm.....is that really an upside cleaning the windows :rotfl:

The two smallest will be in at 8.40 tomorrow morning
The two oldest will be in at 9.50, so the first years can have the whole 'welcome' assembly and get to where they need to be without all the big kids getting in the way.

Whole house hoovered, bathrooms cleaned, blackberry and apple eve's pudding baked for pud tonight. 6 fairy cakes made for lunchboxes, puff pastry defrosting for pasties.

Sitting here naming shoes that i have no faith I will ever see again.
The school is slapdash with people's clothes, they insist all kids -
    * wear black dress shoes to school
*wear their pumps in school to save the carpet,
    * have wellies in school (but don't make them change out of their school shoes in the rain)
then blames the kids when things go missing. Or claim you cannot have named them. It drives me nuts the amount of lunchboxes, drinks bottles, trainers, football boots, pumps and wellies I have lost in the 3 years we have been in this school. And it is somehow worse when they send one shoe/welly/pump home on its own,
    Cheers!
I fear the only option may be superglue:eek:

Cleaning windows - mine need doing too. The rain storm the other day took the worst off. So I will leave it a bit...:o

Do you think the odd shoes go to the same place all the odd socks that never come out of the wash go to? Perhaps there's some parallel universe they all travel to where people seem to have three of everything and can never figure out why....

I am mid- break from wiping down blinds. I also cleaned the downstairs windows and doors at the weekend for the first time since we moved in...over 2yrs ago! To be fair, I had been waiting until the landscaping was done at the back which should've been started and completed last May...thanks to cowboy it wasn't finished until this year. Was really no point cleaning while cement and soil was going everywhere..I just didn't know quite how long it was going to take.

Right, skirting boards to wipe now..evidently I've dribbled tea at some stage over one. New sofas should be easier to move and are on legs (never used the legs on our current ones) so there will be no excuse in future for such slovenliness.
