Can't help you with treacle but can tell you that here in Aus Xmas puddings have now appeared in the supermarket and it's only September!!2
-
Treacle available here in all 4 major supermarkets, do you want me to send you a tin 😁2
-
Can confirm that South Lincolnshire has treacle! Morrisons online even shows 4 tins for the price of 3, that's a lot of treacle 🤣Mortgage Balance as of September 2025 £11,700
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!2 -
Maybe the Leicestershire WI has launched a gingerbread offensive while I was busy working, or maybe the Wiggly Nigella had a treacle toffee bonfire recipe repeat on last week?I have never, ever, not been able to just walk into a shop and buy it, it is just there, always! Will try again -at least if it is in such demand, they will not stop stocking it.DH and DS's 1, 2,& 4 have all succumbed to the mancold. DH was dizzy and lightheaded from it last night - The Test That Shall Not Be Named- was deployed, apparently 1:167 people in the UK are positive right now. Much weaker variant though. Since getting The C Word, every single cough and cold incapacitates DH nowDS2 is 21 today. Now he just has to grow up.....DS1 has 'work' restocking shelves and deboxing in the warehouse, 4 hours a day, four days a week, for the next 4 weeks. Him and 8 other people. All from the job centre, none of them will get paid. That is a lot of free labour for the Bargains of Madness Store. He will still get his £70 a week from the Job Centre instead of the £48.84 a day, or £195.36 for the 4 days it would cost to employ him. It is a saving of £1,562.88 a week for the 8 of them. The Job Centre will reimburse the bus fare though!Unsurprisingly, there is no job at the end of it, but it is 'experience', just like the H0mebase 'experience', and the days working in the Cocktail Bar 'experience', and the 'barista experience' week and there still is no job at the end of any of these 'experiences' because they can get 8 people a week in from the JC to work shifts for free. It is a racket. Train them up, let them go, save on the wages bill, train up the next group, let them go, save on the wages bill... repeat til fade.Cynical? moi? pah!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Do you think it is encourage them to get a job so they get paid for the work, rather than working for not a lot. Kind of if you had been employed you'd have got £x rather than this smaller amount. Either way we are going to make you do the work.Me, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/193

Why would they employ someone when the JC will happily provide them with 8 people doing free labour 4 days a week for 4 weeks?? If there was a position available at the end of it, great! But there isn't.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Why would they pay say 6 people to do a job when they can get 8 people to do it for free. They just have to pay someone to supervise.3
