Both blinds put up in my bedroom, they both had to be cut to size, which was annoying as it was a hacksaw job on a metal pole. Looks good though. My diy skills are coming along nicely.

Found an obsolete telephone wire running around the skirting board, so I pulled it off.
I just didnt think..; now I have to touch up a few bits of the top of the skirting board again.

The undercoat on the stairs makes it look fabulous. Now I have to decide on the topcoat. White is out as my boys trail their hands up the walls, as is cream, I need something I can wipe/scrub. What I want is something shimmery. Can you buy glittery paint for walls? The top floor and stairs are really bright and light, so every finger mark will show, but the long middle landing and stairs to the hall are really quite dark, so I need something that will bounce light around. DH is dead against mirrors near the stairs (as one of his mates saw himself in a mirror at the top of his stairs and fell down them backwards and broke both his legs! He thought his reflection was a ghost). So that makes things a little more difficult. I will end up with mirrors, just not at the top of the stairs! The power of suggestion is too much to risk.

Overpayment total for the year (as it is NYE) £1.558.49 that we will not have to pay interest on.

Mortgage Balance as of tonight £108875.67

So I nearly managed to overpay 1% in a whole year. :rotfl: or just over 3 extra monthly payments.

So this is how grown ups spend New Year's Eve:beer: Rock n Roll!

Tomorrow will be another £500 off the mortgage. :T

Looks like someone is having techy problems this morning

Or else the re-mortgage people have screwed up mightily.:eek:

I am going with techy problems on 1.1.18 - maybe it is having a wobble trying to calculate all that yearly interest they can charge people.

Wonder if they did change over the mortgage early? I was waiting for L&Cs solicitor to contact me. They never did. We are within 60 days of product term though......

Time will tell.

The tree and decorations are all neatly packed away. I need to get on with today but keep checking to see if the mortgage exists. I am always annoyed that dd's and s/o's do not go out on weekends or bank holidays. It is all supposed to be electronic, so why am I still waiting for s/o's due to go out on the 30/12 to go out of my account? It is ridiculous. If the shops can charge your card on these days, why can't the bank make the money I have budgeted to leave my account go away?

I have the kids regular saver money to go out, plus all the bills so that I know how much I will have for the month. So I read the electricity meter this morning and sent them the numbers. With the kids and DH home for the last 3 weeks, the heating and electric have taken a battering, but I should still be in credit. just.

DH has announced his intention to go back to work tomorrow.
The kids are off for another week. They have no intention of leaving the house again. Ever. (Yawn).

I have been mugged for my credit card so they can spend all their Xmas money. My purse is stuffed with £5 notes from them. So I need to transfer the money to my credit card.

All bills have gone out. :hello:
I have no water bill until April now (STW dd 8 months April-Nov)

I have to find £100 for DS1s geography field trip (total £162 for 3 days)asap so i can stop thinking about it. DS3s residential is paid for already:T

I also need to pin the smalls down about which after school clubs they want to do this term. If any.

DH is no use at all about paint colours. He is the house artist. He spends a lot of time painting pictures and tiny tiny men (in a very masculine fashion) but when I asked him if he could paint a tentacle on my living room curtain he is suddenly not able to. I like tentacles. I did introduce the subject of a possible mural. He turned a funny colour. Ho hum, tiddly dee.

It is chucking it down here, so plenty of laundry to be done, shoved in the dryer and folded (boo! reality....intruding on my tales of tentacles).

So I am the designated household adult until 5.30 when the proper grown up comes back home. I don't get a badge.

Right, need to get on with adulting.
