Dave is seriously getting closer to either finding his/her neck under a trap, or being poisoned.  Ze needs to get with the programme and get into the traps and join the relocation scheme.    DH goes away for 5 days over half term (of course he does!!) so I might just go on a murderous rampage. Dave has had his/her/their chance at the 'kind vegan' approach.  Ze is seriously skating on thin ice.

In other news, nearly £100 less on the gas and electric bill this month, over last month - what has changed?  DH has been back in his office for the last 2  weeks! all bodes well for future months - now to get it below £300 ..  my direct debit has not needed the govt £66 bribe,.  I have been in credit the whole way through, although currently a smidge under £200, but the dd is £223, so I should be fine -  the energy company  have credited the bribe back to my bank account every month. I did not need it. 

I got a call from The Builder yesterday!! He has put me in touch with The Architect who will come and tell me what is possible. So the ball seems to be rocking, if not yet rolling.  The Architect has not contacted me yet, but we have left messages with each other.

I have 5 days of work, starting on Sunday, which will be a nice change as I have spent the entire week so far just cleaning, clearing, and disinfecting.... well, everything really.  I even managed to fill two plastic sacks with clean bubblewrap, and gift on a neighbourhood waste-not site.  I was not going to use it, and it needed to go. They came and collected it, it is gone.

Knowing just how incontinent rats/mice are would mean most of that disinfecting was a waste of time.  Get some traps/poison down asap!

I have traps everywhere!! So far all I have caught is my two eldest sons and their enormous flappy feet. 

DH goes away on Tuesday so I will step up the violence level.

Day 1 working was just the setting up fee, so £60 for 3 hours work - nice!

Day 2 was a half day, so 7 and a half hours for £110

Day 3 will be 7.30am - 8pm for £140

Day 4 will be 7.30am - 8pm for £140

Day 5 will be 7.30am - 7.30pm £135

Aiming for about £600 this week which is the magic number for a sofabed.  The £200 bank account switching bribe is on its way, the switch has completed, there are 2 charity direct debits for £5 each, which have transferred over, and I have set up internet banking and looked at it online. Just need to pay some money in when I get paid, and then transfer it back again and I am sorted.  I already dislike DecANDAnt's internet banking.  Those cool dudes at Hollyfax still have the nicest interweb banking I have used - that is why I want to stay with them and set up a 2nd current account for switching.  I will switch it again just before Easter.

Poor DH is very annoyed his credit rating has gone down - he no longer has a mortgage, so he no longer has debt.

It does seem a little counter reality for the rating to go down because you've paid it off doesn't it.  It just shows how meaningless they are.

I'm just waiting for that bank to decide to have to text you every time you use the site, which I do every day.  NS & I do every time & some others do for particular transactions.  It is very irritating when you don't always have a signal.

Absolutely!  My DH used to work for a company that paid cash for everything and when they wanted to borrow some money to buy new fork lift trucks they found they couldn't because they had no credit rating!  Absolutely mad.

I worked really hard to get my credit rating to a good place but then the mortgage was paid off and every month it slips a little more.  I have to believe its ok as I don't need any more credit so it doesn't matter.

I shouldn't worry too much about it.  A few years ago & after I was retired & my mortgage had been paid off for years, I got £12k & then another £8k credit without anyone even twitching an eyebrow.  Only because they were interest free for a year & the interest was better off in my savings than in theirs (well in my opinion anyway).

Worked 5 days, relaxed yesterday and did the food shopping, woke up with an awful streaming head cold, sneezing my face off and feeling totally awful .  Normal February Half Term then.

Dave is still at large. He must be getting hungry though, as the bin goes out every night now, and his access to food is vastly reduced....so get in the trap Dave!!  Your time is up.

Still have £250 left in the budget for the month - £15 unexpected interest from another bank account turned up, which was nice.  Also had surprise lunch vouchers and free drinks vouchers while at work, which meant I did not have to buy anything at all, so I am just waiting for my cc bill to arrive before I can claim back my parking expenses.  All good!
