  • I feel your pain re school shoes and trainers. I have been begging ds to try on his uniform (not used since Dec 2020) to see if any of it is still useable but I am still waiting. The school uniform is regulation and can only be bought at one shop and the closer to the end of the holidays it gets, the busier the place is.
And as for your mil - I was very fortunate that mine died before me and ex even got married. 8 years of her was more than enough and I could only just manage with a week at a time (and don't get me started on Christmas). Good luck!

A1di had pots & pans on sunday in their specials so send him off there to hunter gather for himself, their packet pasta/couscous are fairly student friendly as quick don't need to think meals too. I think the random things I found I hadn't considered but needed at uni were drawing pins/bluetack, a bedside lamp & a padlock (we had lockers to put our kitchen stuff in)

If hes thought about pots & pans hopefully hes tied that into needing a plate, bowl and cutlery too

I hope the spaghetti arms recoil quickly
    - Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

The one thing my DGD has found useful at uni is a slow cooker as she loves stew type things and it's something that can be started off before going off to uni and be ready later in the day without no bother (think that's the main plus point!)
