Well I have been shopping today. Oooh, that sounds fun! what did you buy? I bought a lockset and an ecu from a 2008-2010 Nissan Micra, then I emailed the L&C remortgage people. Cos that's just how much flippin' fun I am.

DS1 decided at 10am he was off to a StarWars marathon at a friends house.

I took DH,and the remaining 3 DS off to town, we looked at toys, I secretly bought things that resembled reindeer poo, we stopped off at the 100% vegan fair in the hope that something would appeal for lunch. I was hoping for maybe an interesting stall with seasonal items or present ideas, but it was all vegan junk food. Overpriced vegan junk food at that. DS4 decided to have a massive sulk after downing £5 churros with his brothers, because I would not buy him a £3.50 small g/f chocolate brownie. £3.50! after he decided he was full of his actual lunch £7. Then when we got home he tried to convince me he needed a packet of instant noodles. !!!!!!. Honestly! He is driving me nuts. He is only 9. Everything is a fight or an argument with him at the minute. The chimney sweep idea is looking more and more appealing. Keeping Christmas traditional, and all that.

Anyway, I have ideas for birthday presents for him, and for Xmas presents. No matter what I do, it will be wrong. I am resigned. It is that difficult age when lots of toys are too young, but lots of things are too old. More technology no doubt, but if they think I am getting any Alex-0 devices in this house they are sadly mistaken. They can get up and turn their own damned lights off, I am not rewiring again just so they can clap the lights on and shout the bathtub running. They should count themselves lucky they are not up a chimney.

DS4 refused to come down for supper, he rocked up as I was finishing the washing up (my hands were cold) and then ate the lot without a squeak.

DS1 sent a text at 9.30 to say the last 2 buses had not turned up and could I rescue him. The road was closed for the lights turn on, and the bus has been rerouted til 10pm. Not that he knew that. I knew that. But anyway, DH went off and rescued him instead. Then he asks if there is anything to eat, and when he realises I am not going to stand in the kitchen and make food for him, he goes off to his room. Because he is too good to use a microwave and eat leftovers.

I am annoyed with him - can you tell?
Right, I need to put some reindeer poo into little bags and put them in the advent calendars to make the small people happy. - I have a mixture of choc covered things -raisins/cranberries/peanuts/honeycomb/ fudge pieces to all resemble poo. Also some chocolate coins and some paper wrapped toffees. That will have to do for now. The lady in the health food shop asked if she could help - the look on her face when I announced I was only after things that looked like reindeer poo, was priceless. Well, if she did not want to know, she should not have asked if I was looking for anything in particular.

Anyway, my weird shopping list was fulfilled. Will do a very basic shop tomorrow, and then go wild in the aisles on Monday once I know my budget etc...

Today was a nice day. Got up, had coffee with the politics, dh and ds3 went off to parkrun, came home and all except DS2 went off and did the local Xmas fair - they close off the whole street and all the shops are involved, and then a stage and stalls on the street, the weather was nice and crisp, and it was all jolly good fun.

Did a bit of the big shop, came home, roasted lots of veg and had supper and a bath.

4 loads of laundry washed and dried today.

At least the normal day to day things are getting done.

The remortgage company is getting back to me on Wednesday, my car bits are supposed to be coming on Tuesday I think - DH is home on strike until then anyway to pick up any parcels.

Tomorrow I have a fun and thrilling trip to the dentist, a couple of hours at the f/b, 2 hrs of free time which I will spend doing the rest of the food shop, and then the school run, supper, and back to the f/b. Busy day, but at least I know what I am doing.

    11 Days until the election,

15 Days until my car service and MOT
19 days until school breaks up

    22 days until DS4s birthday,

    24 days until Xmas.

If DS4 keeps eating like that he won't fit up any chimneys :rotfl:
Did they have The Hogless Roast at the vegan market?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: well I guess you can put it in a pot?

Glad you've ordered the car bits. I had to rescued by a nice man from the breakdown recovery last night when my engine temp shot up (well my cars, not actually mine, though my blood pressure certainly shot up) and smoke started coming through the dash vents. Car is now at the garage as a surprise for the mechanic tomorrow (it's a guy himself so i didn't like to bother him at the weekend but saw no point in having the car brought home) - I fear a new lockset won't resolve the issue

One had the Junk mac, one had the loaded doner, one did the spicy wings stall (nasty! really not impressed) and two did the Chic-hun burgers place (underwhelmed - a battered burger? bleurgh!). When they did the vegan market first there were lots of stalls, but now the monthly fair is just Junk food, and I can't be bothered to spend £7 on a burger, and just get a burger in a bun. Call me odd but I at least want to see something green or red on the side. I can do a dirty burger at home, it is not special, dh makes a mean seitan slab for a mock kebab style meal where I can get at least 6 portions of veg into the kids without them noticing. It just felt dirty, not like a treat (oh no! I think I might be growing up!).

Oh yeah, I have DS2s parents evening on the 5th too, double bleurgh!!

Just found out the leaves and unripe fruit is hallucinogenic and causes stomach cramps and vomiting. I will have to buy a pot, but it might have a mysterious yachting accident somewhere near Peterborough.....

  • I didn't even think Mulberry bushes were a thing. I thought that they were an extinct or legendary winter shrubbery only sung about in ancient festive and seasonal songs...

I remember once we were driving along and suddenly smoke came out of the air vents and the smell of burning. But it was only dust or other had caught fire, and after it cooled down and we turned off the air conditioning we were able to continue on our merry way. Terrifying though.

Mulberries are kind of a blackberry/raspberry X with a hint of grapefruit and if you do not prune them regularly they end up a minimum of 300 meters high.

Only one of my children had trousers on at '5 minutes past when we had to leave' this morning. So they are getting reindeer poo in their calendars tomorrow.

It is officially December, the idiot fairy has been past and scattered idiot dust on them all.
