Oh blimey Pooky aren't you lovely!
Welcome aboard. You know, for a golfball sized, nocturnal, bit stinky, anti-social, bitey machine, I really miss the little b*gger
I sent dh a text to update him on his mortgage balance. So he does know, he just does not know how much I overpay until the yearly statement in December. I am ridiculously excited about nearly being sub £4 a day in January. :j
I did not tell him I am £320 in credit with the heating company. I am going to go on a savings drive (yeah, I know), with the kids, as they are leaving lights on and things charging all night, and running 3 devices at a time, Which is driving me nuts.
DS1 is going to his first grown up party this weekend. For some reason he was not invited to the one last week - same chap is having one this weekend - but he has been invited to this one. There is going to be a lot of drinking and mucking about. DS1 has not yet found an alcohol he likes, so that will be fun for him. OMG, he is going out to get wasted with his mates!! Not sure I am ready for this, but as I was out at the local night club every weekend from the time I was 16, and drinking in pubs a long way from home (the perils of parents sending you to a 'good' school - all your mates are flippin' miles away), and seeing bands a couple of times a month, I really cannot object. I just hope he is sensible (he is not in the slightest bit sensible). All part of growing up. Dh's face was priceless. I think it can only be described as 'woeful'.
Oy! They have to find out who they are sometime, I suppose. I am going to torment the life out of him if he is hungover on Saturday morning though. Time to let go the reins a little....4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Love love love your diary Foxholes.
I found myself having to explain religious intolerance to the 3 year old today who asked 'why do we have fireworks?'
My usual response of 'why do you think?' Was met with 'I don't know mummy, that's why I ask you '
Get well soon. Enjoy the popcorn.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Holy Moly!
DH is on strike from the 25th for 8 days
The Royal Mail is threatening strike action at the end of the month and through December
South Western Railway are threatening 27 days of strikes in December,
And we don't even have a hard-line Socialist government yet.
Another winter of discontent?
CCL and other Teacher types, have you been balloted yet?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

so rather than blaming the socialist government we haven't got yet and haven't had for 10 long years - how about blaming the current lot at whose feet pretty much both issues can be well and truly laid -
Failing Grayling 2 - this time its someone else who's useless
(sorry this is your thread but *triggered*)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

The comment was about the Socialist government falling out with the unions in '79, not a comment on how well everything is not going under Boris :rotfl:. I don't really need to comment, what with the number of current Tories who are announcing they will not be standing again under him, and JR-M making totally crass statements, and the caliber of MPs lining up behind him to say he is not racist, he is just cleverer than the people at Grenfell and knows more than the fire service about toxic smoke in enclosed areas of high rise buildings. Madness!!!
While McD is touting Long Bailey as his successor_pale_ - my ex MP - and let's face it, not many people could provoke more disgust than Hazel Blears, but give the girl credit, she has managed it. Not that Laura Pidcock,( JC and McC's favoured successor) is much better - Today she explained Labour's Brexit policy like this "We recognise why people voted Leave. We recognise why people voted Remain. We are not the party of either. We are the party of both." Oh, so that's nice then.
And as the last date for registering to vote is 26th November, and the postal votes will be going out about then, and the polling cards - not technically a must-have item, but still handy to have, if you don't know where your polling station is and have to be fiddling around trying to find out due to location changes, then a strike by the Royal Mail can be seen as interfering with the vote. Plus, by the 12th we may have a Labour government, and the strikes will continue until demands are met.
Not my idea of a contented winter, whichever team you happen to support.
The range of people willing to stand will not be representative of society - traditional hardliners are no longer hard line. If I were to be looking into my crystal ball (no refunds) I would say it is going to get a lot more pale, male, and stale in the House.

Tis true, Stormont has not been able to ratify the budget and how the social and health services are able to keep running for so long is beyond me with no idea of funding levels.
Never thought Home Rule would return to NI.
I mean, it ended so well last time......:rotfl:4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
