I'm with you on hating using the TD foxholes. I'm hoping most clothes can be done on the heated airer, but bedding will probably have to do in the TD which makes it a lot harder to iron. Although I might experiment with folding on the airer. Unfortunately I have to do all my laundry in concentrated periods in between work travel, so it tends to be a bit of a marathon.

I love line-dried bed linen - I'm going to miss it over the winter!

We have no tumble dryer, I stopped ironing bed linen many years ago when I realised no one else cared whether it was creased, ironed or even washed  since then I have invested in a set of 'washed' linen style bed linen which is my fav, very comfy and supposed to look creased ..win win.

F0xh0les can you leave the FC stuff outside for collection, on the proviso if it's not collected it will be off to charity / tip? I get fed up of people promising collection then not turning up.

Kerri, it is chucking it down over here, I wouldn't leave it outside, two ladies came for the pine tv unit, it took both of them to carry it down 4 stairs and out the gate and down the road. DS3 watched them from the front room window and said' how come you can carry that on your own and move it all around the house on your own, and it takes them two people to lift it?' and I thought , yep, just about sums it up.

Still waiting for TMNT raphael to leave the building, and now I have someone coming for an ex-hamster cage and some speakers. Should be in the next 20 minutes or so.

Don't tell anyone, but that is just over a whole shelf worth of stuff from the bathroom shelf unit that has left the house this morning/afternoon. The sack of clothes will go into the car on the way to take the kids to school tomorrow. :T

I only iron things that really, really look like they need an iron. So not much:rotfl: and I definitely do not iron my own head. That is just weird.

And of course she did not turn up, sent a text after 4 .30 asking if it was ok to come, which I had already told her it was, and as I was in the kitchen cooking, I did not hear the phone, so now she says it is too late as she is back at home. Why are people who want stuff for free so rude?
The dude who picked up the speakers and the hamster cage was so shifty you know he is a carbooter. I asked if he had his hamster yet and he just wasn't quick enough to lie about it, looked guilty and said, no no not yet... erm. I just laughed and closed the door. I hope he gets £5 for it and gets a puncture on the way off the field. It is rude. Still, it is on him, not on me.

Did an Oatly creme fraiche pasta dish, a tray of scones, and a lemon drizzle cake. The kids have all be told to do their homework. Sunday evening in the House of Fox.

So ended up spending £0 today. They can have sandwiches, cake and a drink in their lunchboxes tomorrow. Forgot that Leicester were playing at home today on the late kickoff, so the likelihood the local Mr M's next door had any kind of food left was zero, after the collectors had been.

So, another week ends, it is wet and windy and horrid here, not cold at all though, the candles are going to be lit in a minute and the curtains closed against the rain.

I am full of tea and a scone and I am a very lucky person, all things considered.

Hugs to all who need them.

  • Lol Foxholes, I know exactly what you mean. Not to be too much of a hell in a handcarter but I don't remember FC being like this a while back. Probably my rose-tinted specs but I remember it being more fuzzy and friendly! FB selling is similar - so many people just enquire if something's available then whoosh! they're gone. Is it just a hobby of theirs to randomly scroll through stuff and see if it's available? Then if you make a time with them they decide oh I can't be @rsed I'll just ghost the seller rather than tell them! Argh!
    Choose kind:)

To be fair to FB, depending on what device you're using, it's quite easy to accidentally message someone asking if an item is still available - I've done it a few times but always messaged to say I made a mistake. The ones who annoy me as those you reply to, talk to, then never come back to say if they want it or not.

FC annoys me when people don't collect as i've mentally moved the item out of my home and don't want it back because they haven't turned up. Then get torn between binning it and holding it for the person to not turn up again....

Well if she does not come today, Raphael is either staying (dh made awwwww! noises, he says he gets more conversation out of shouty turtle than the kids) or he is falling into the c/s bag. I have a full c/s bag, and a tip pile (mostly wood)
I do need to get a full size mountain bike out of my pantry though. Hence the stuff moving out.

Today I spent money - Her0n has full sizedAlpr0 Almond and salted caramel ice cream tubs for 50p each, so I nabbed 10. The kids will eat most of it. The freezer is now full. Spent £30 in T0sc0 and £11 in Her0n on food. Will do all the unglamorous stuff today - 36 x loo rolls and boxes of tissues. DH asked last night if we have any more bars of soap - we have 6 in the bathroom cupboard, he is soap blind. We do need toothpaste though. I still have about £30 worth of shopping to do, and am going to try and do it all today.

Paid off cc bill - £250
Paid another £25 to DS4's residential in May
No longer have access to useless bank's online mortgage resource. They have cut me off as I did not put any money in the current account I had to have or I could not look at the mortgage balance. Now I will have to ring up and ask for the balance. I will have fun asking them what the daily mortgage interest is. They will not be able to answer me. I have been through this before. I have lots of questions they cannot answer without a calculator. I am an A$$. I cannot wait to be able to switch away from them.

I cannot believe tomorrow is October already.

I no longer have an excuse not to get my car key removed from the ignition. I need to get it sorted or I will not pass my MOT in December. This month I have DH's birthday (all sorted, gifts found as and when) and DS1s birthday. That is all the birthdays done with until Xmas Eve Eve, when DS4 made an appearance. So hopefully in October and November I will be able to save some money. Well, maybe not in October with this stupid car key nonsense, although it may not be as spendy as I fear.

Step-Gran's sister is now with her for a fortnight. So I should have some peace.

Once again I recognise that I need to work on my patience levels. But first, off to the tip, and then to the c/s, and then to the loo roll emporium. Then pick up 3 kids at 3pm and one at 4.15 and then volunteering at 6pm. Going to do a leave in conditioning treatment on my head, and have a lovely bath when I get back from volunteering. Monday is a busy old day over here. Torrential rain forecast for ..... you guessed it.....3pm onwards.

    Typical.

I have numbers!!!! But they do not make any sense.
So, I am now down to £95,500 but they only charged £2.85 a day in interest, rather than the £4.20 a day they charged last month. Well that is just very odd. Nearing the annual mortgage statement in December now - it is just wrong that I find that exciting. This time 12 months ago the mortgage was £101,999.99 so I am quite happily still knocking off £500 a month. I just can't work out why they have not charged 'the usual' this month. Makes no sense. But anyway, I am down to £95,500. Yay! It is going down. That is what we want.

DH's birthday so he has a choice of 3 birthday desserts. Lucky boy. His relatives have sent him Rainforest vouchers and he is annoyed with them. He tells them every year to spend their money on themselves, he does not need £25. Take each other out for lunch, or whatever floats their boats. He is 45 and not desperate for £25. But they will not listen. I have told him to use the vouchers to buy them their Xmas presents, and send them early. They will not take the hint.

Should get news of f-i-l's misbehaving prostate today.

9 days til half term. Can't flippin' wait. At least it will be a break from after school activities and stupid school meetings about precisely NOTHING!!

    Driving me up the wall.

Himself has a conference in Cork next August, so I whipped out the 2020 calendar on the wall behind the 2019 calendar on the wall and wrote it on. The look on the darling man's face when he realised I was already taking bookings for next year was absolutely priceless. He is amazed by my organizational prowess when it comes to diaries, and that I had dates for him to be away at events that he had not looked up the dates for yet. He is a creature of habit. I am a creature of the night. Mwah! ha ha ha ha!
