Happy birthday to Mr F0xh0les!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

Thankyou!
He opted for the brownie (I have never made brownies before and do not have a recipe, but he says if it had choc chips in it it would be perfect - so I know for next time) with almond and salted caramel ice cream, and then he could not resist a very small slice of apple pie, (I had left over pastry from the cherry tart, so the crumble became pie) which he has said he is definitely having for breakfast with a strong coffee - teaching proper starts tomorrow, so the darling man needs a proper breakfast, and apple pie and coffee will hit the spot. Poor man did not get to work until 10am, after witnessing an accident in the park and staying with the injured man for over an hour until the ambulance came. A dog ran in the way of the cyclist, who had just got over having his knee pinned back together. Knee + dog + ground = unpinned knee. Poor man. But apart from that dh is having a lovely birthday and is very happy tonight.
I know of two couples who have 'special calendars' in the kitchen, and whoever puts their event in the calendar first gets to do it. They are militant about first come first served. So if one is invited to a wedding, but the other one has earmarked it for a one hour yoga session, they do not get to go. One has to look after the kid. I find it really strange. It must cause huge resentment. You have to give and take, but they do not. Calendar management can cause huge friction.

Ouch! Poor cyclist, well done to OH for staying with him.
I get the 'first come first served' thing for certain events, but it should also depend whether it's a one off (wedding...well...in theory;)) or a regular thing like a gym class where another session could be booked, or one week off won't really make a diff.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Apparently the ambulance service puts on extra shifts during the first fortnight of term every year.
DS3 is having some problems with a boy in his year, he got punched in the shoulder yesterday and a teacher witnessed it, so I had a phone call, and I hope they sort it out. The other boy is in isolation this afternoon because of it. His parents have been informed. Hopefully that is an end to it.
Today I feel like doing something wild. Never a good feeling. Like I might do something absolutely stupid. I should be tied to the bed for my own good (that's my excuse anyway).
Hamster is still alive (although he keeps keeling over and can't get up without a bit of help flipping him back, he is still gnawing on his chew sticks and attacking bits of apple, he is asleep at least 23hrs a day). He is now 3 years old, and he has given up grooming himself or doing his hair. He looks manky. Scruffy old man.
DH looks lovely though. He had the heating on for 3 hours last night and was particularly jolly about being warm. He has a cough and a cold already. It will continue until December (it is now a tradition). It will not stop him from putting his camping stuff away this weekend (it has sat in the middle of the back room since he came back 3 weeks ago). I am going to swap out one short bookcase for another taller bookcase in the back room, and sort out all that is on it this weekend. DH wants to go out for lunch, but he has realised we have early kick off on Saturday, so he has scuppered his own plans. I will go into town though. I need new pyjamas, and I still do not have a winter coat, my ankle boots have a hole in the sole, got wet this week in the rain, and now smell like a swamp. So new boots needed.
Locksmith for car will either cost £400 or £200. I will go with the £200 one and hope it works - the car is 10 years old. I am not spending loads on it.
I have no urge to either clean or tidy anything today.
The living room will be full of kids at 8pm for the model railway programme (they love it - it is strangely compelling). Will pop our own corn and treat it as family time - also The Dark Crystal is brilliant (dh has netflix)- if you have not seen it, then do, we need more puppets in our lives.
There have been loads of break-ins around here the past week. The students are back, so that is kind of expected, but there have been a lot of places broken into for the car keys and nothing else. Obv the car is gone too. But it means I am a bit wary about leaving the house - and dh has a parcel being delivered this morning so I am sat in like a lemon. It is silly, as the houses are all broken into overnight, while there is someone in. Very blatant. Very frightening. Mind you, nobody is going to steal my 10 year old, or dh's 15 year old car. Realistically.
Used one of dh's unwanted gift cards to buy net curtains for the living room and bedroom (black victorian embroidered lacy numbers) dh hates the windows being bare, I love it, but for the winter, I am willing to cover them. What is the point of having a lovely big bay window if you can't look out of it? Also I bought a little blunt ended syringe to refill my bic biros, which are all running out. It will save another bit of plastic going into landfill, will let you know how it works out. So I keep my no spend day, as it was someone else's money, and I get what I want.
Next week is the last 5 days of school before the half term holidays. Hope the kids will behave themselves or I shall have to be sad.
Right, now I have my head on better, I will get on with some stuff until himself's parcel comes, then I will leg it. Trawl the c/s for coats, candles, and... erm..... other carp,4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh dear. Woke up this morning, well rested (muppet students were outside at 12:15 waiting for a taxi, too loudly, only for about 15 minutes, but still loud enough to wake me up), got up, had breakfast and suddenly, 'what's the point??' hit me. So, nothing done this morning, I am going to watch us lose the football, and then take the kids to town at 3pm. I have stuff to do, but no motivation.
So I did a p/academic survey in German and earned myself £1.80, and now I can cash out my £6.70. So at least the time was not completely wasted.
Still no movement on camping equipment watch.

I had so many plans for today, but now I've been to the physio and had my nails done for work next week I really CBA. The laundry needs to happen, as I have to pack a suitcase for work, but I'm not sure how much of the gardening is going to be done. Or the housework. Or work. Or running.
What would happen if you hid the camping stuff inside a binliner in the boot of your car? How long would it take him to notice it was missing?1 -
Would it be worth putting the camping stuff on his side of the bed???
Hope your mojo returns soon...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1 -
The camping stuff might just all fit into an empty double wardrobe. If it were a bin liner full, or just the tent I would have moved it. But it is 1/5 of the whole room covered in bags and boxes and all sorts.
I am hoping, like last weekend, suddenly after the football ends, I regain my mojo and get stuff done.
I get nothing done when there is a house full of people.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Half of DH's camp stuff has been put away.
I have running shoes (£44- used credit card that gives M&S cash vouchers)
I have knee high flat boots (£49.50/ double points voucher used with M&S cc in M&S= quadruple points)
The kitchen is clean and everyone is fed.
More model trains on tv tonight so ds3 will be happy.
I have read half a book - will finish tomorrow and start a new c/s bag. So not as much of a washout as feared. We lost the football, as predicted. I did another p/academic survey, so will cashout even more than expected. I can toss my swampy baseball boots. The knee high boots mean that I can wear my pile of tights and hopefully reduce the pile somewhat. I think I will be able to drive in them - I cannot drive in thick soles, it is bizarre. So the summer dresses can get the thick tights and a jumper treatment, and I will not need to buy anything.
So I can get back to trying to run, now I have a pair of trainers!
