    Another week over.
Monday morning again, paid the cc bill, the car tax, the windscreen wiper bill, and still have some left over in the budget, so not all bad news. Can't help thinking that I would have loads left if these had not happened though. Boo!
Did a maths morning at school, came home, cleaned, did the recycling, hoovered the living room, and got a phone call from school about DS2 and some bad behavior, not bad enough for a detention, or any other kind of punishment, but it is going on his file. Not sure why they would put anything on file if it is not even worthy of a detention. - will have strong words with him when he gets home. The school should not really put things off as 'banter' if it is offensive. Three weeks left of school, not enough work to be done, stupidly high spirits, and now he starts getting into trouble. 13 days for him to hold himself together. It is like this every year. Drives me nuts.

As expected, there was a guy with a clipboard outside the gates this morning, pulling everyone up on uniform infringements, time keeping ..... those gates clanged shut at 8.25 .. and now behaviour. Stress!!!
Step-gran is sticking her oar in, still no firm news about in-laws, just feeling stressed right now.

And school has just changed the end of term date! so one day less to have to think about.

I would check with him very carefully about what was actually said. Free speech seems to be dead & gone these days. He may have said something along the lines of scientifically there can only be 2 sexes. If it is something like that (I know probably not) they may not want to suspend & get the schools name all over the papers like the Aberdeenshire school did at the weekend! He was suspended for 3 weeks.

If it had been like that when I was in my teens I would never have been in school.

I have just checked my bank account and I have been given a £100 rebate by those Foxy Energy Market peoples. I am still about £100 in credit with them, plus another £92 will go out with the dd on Monday, but still, £100 is £100 after all. My bill last month was under £60. I will switch when it starts to get colder again.

The house is an absolute tip. Everything is back to being everywhere. I need to sort this out, and as it is looking like the in-laws for a week as soon as the kids finish school, then that is the kick up the bum I need to do it.

Got a text this morning that the passports will be here by Monday - it will have been a 10 day turnaround from sending to holding it in my hand. Really can't complain, so that spare £100 will go to paying towards that.

I have talked DH into taking DS3 and 4 off on a guided open streets bike ride tomorrow afternoon - when it will be a 22 degree heat instead of this awful 32 degree heat today. They camped out on the school field last night, had a whale of a time, and DS3 passed out on the sofa by 1.30pm, He is still asleep now.

Pay will hit my account on Monday morning, when all the bills will go out as well, so by Tuesday I will be able to tell you the new mortgage figures after my overpayment.

Sciatica !!!!!!ed off by Monday and has not returned - it is not welcome here!
So today is just too hot for me, there is peach tea/ lemon tea powder (£1.29 from Leedl), and lemon lollies (Her0n 79p for 5 Solero). Food shopping done for next week. Might need the odd loaf of bread, but that is about it.

DS4s school residential next year has come in at £290 for 4 days - utterly criminal, but DS3 went, so I can't say no. will try and save £10 a week. Hopefully July will not have any ridiculously big expenses - the £140 wipers / £140 passports / £140 car tax combination has scuppered my budget, but I had it, so it was not a problem, it was just expensive. I still have £250 on my credit card to pay off next month too. Oh well, at least I will have money off vouchers for M&S because of it. Talking of which I still have £3 of M&S vouchers in my purse, which is equivalent to 2 pots of hummus.

I have updated the wall calendar for July with all the things already in the diary, including the possible in-law descent. Smear test booked (not a highlight but 5 mins out of my day so why would you not?)

Those pesky ctc people have ignored my - he is staying in education - information, they are still dropping him from my claim - according to the letter they sent today - so I will have to contact them when he gets his results on the 22nd August.

That's also happened with my DD who is staying on.

I've read somewhere that the system will not act before the 31st August/1st September cut-off but when the button is pressed the information is then actioned and new figures are created.

Another forest is then destroyed informing us of the amended award......:(

Good day today, DH got up and took the smalls on their bikes to parkrun and by the time they had got home (9.30) I had tidied the top floor and middle floor bedrooms, including all the clothes drawers and bookcases and under the beds, if I could get my hands on the person who invented match attax and pokemon cards he would have a very long thin neck. So I had coffee, hoovered the whole house, cleaned the bathroom, then DH took 3 & 4 off on an open streets bike ride (about 10km) I did lunch for 2, then had to clear up a massive amount of broken glass as a mysterious 'someone' had moved too much stuff on one side of the unit (where the kids go for the chocolate covered rice cakes and cans of spritzer ) and it fell over face first and sadly three pyrex casseroles did not make it. Blimey they make a lot of mess when they shatter! Luckily the kids were not here, or I would have blamed them, but after nearly an hour clearing everything up and making sure it was all safe, and being happy they were not in there when it avalanched, I was more forgiving.

DH was in the kitchen this afternoon crafting at the big table, and he was surprised enough to mention, how many times kids came into the kitchen, saw him there, and then turned around and left the room again. We are having food disappear at an astounding rate at the moment. You could not keep a nakd bar, a 9bar or a packet of biscuits for more than a day, and the crisp situation is ridiculous. But nobody who lives here takes them. It is another Le'shire triangle mystery.

Masses of laundry done, tomorrow is bed linen change day and I have sorted out all the replacements already, ready for after the school run. Now I finally have enough replacements for all the beds. How very grown up of me!
The weather forecast is basically 19 - 22 for the whole of next week, which is pretty much my functioning limit. The 32 degrees yesterday were horrific, the 22 today was not much fun either. I think I may be having hot flushes as well. Joyous! Will have to make a dr appt to find out.

I still have absolutely nothing to look forward to planned. I am just concentrating on getting through what has to be done and what needs to be done, but there is no real enjoyment in anything. My lists are getting done though.

I think I have managed to save £2,500 so far this year, as well as the £100+ overpayment on the mortgage each month. The lack of actual physical improvement in the house is weighing heavy on me right now.

DH is complaining of being depressed, he says if it gets any worse he is going to go to the Dr. There is nothing I can do to help. His dad may have cancer and he will have to be sociable with them for a week. That's enough to send him into a grump, and I don't really want to leave him on his own for more than a week while he is feeling fragile. He does not do well on his own.

So lots of things happening, none of which I can control. It is just a matter of getting through it all, and coming out the other side. There is a list of things that have to be done.At least DS1 is old enough not to have to be dragged along, he can stay with DH and they can be boys together. DS2 is going to object, but next year everything may have changed and he will be 16 and therefore magically absolved of all liability/responsibility. This situation is not forever. It is just a sticky situation for a short amount of time.

Blimey! Just had in-laws on the phone - I had to play vague and just throw DH under the bus, I would rather them think me a fuzzy headed air-brain, than to just agree with plans they have made based on imagined versions of conversations they report to have had with DH, but that I know are total nonsense.
They actually have gaslighting down to an absolute art form, but it does not work once you have twigged to their strategy.

So I played vague, and told them to ring DH as I had no firm plans to work around and he is the one everyone has to please, and then I rang DH to tell him what his parents were claiming he had agreed to. It is lovely to be able to laugh about them, they are immensely stressful, but it is actually becoming like water off a duck's back. It washes over me and I can laugh about it.

We know this visit is going to become a total bun-fight with people wanting to see my kids, and the in-laws inviting various cousins and siblings and step-kittens, and then claiming we knew about it all along - I told DH a fortnight ago that this little trip would involve his extended family, but he did not believe me. Well he does now! We can go along, play nice, and then leg it, which will give us a reprieve before they drive over and visit us.
The only reason I answered the phone (I programmed a different ring tone in for their number) was I though there might be some news on f-i-l's prostate, but apparently not. Mind you I would not be surprised if he wanted to make a grand announcement face to face. DH is already mentally preparing his funeral speech - which probably explains his mood crashing so low lately. They are a terrible family for borrowing trouble before it is necessary.

Anyway, it gave DH a good laugh to hear what he had apparently agreed to. Only a fortnight to go until they are in close proximity!.

Well, car problems abound! My key is sticking in the ignition when I try and get it out, went up to the recommended locksmith, who cut me a new car key by eye, as it is very worn, and it has shown the barrel is the problem, so £40 for a key that will not snap in the barrel, and can be mounted on a new cloned fob when the barrel is replaced. It is going to cost, but nowhere near as much as a tow truck and drilling out the barrel if the key broke inside it. He was really nice too, so it is another one of those once every ten year expenses! Another tradesman met, apart from that, it has been another low spend day.

    I have numbers!!

The mortgage is currently £96,999.99 (which is much less than £97,000.00)

The interest for the month was £127.43 which makes for a daily interest of £4.24 which is 2p less a day than last month. A whole 60p. Whoop!

It is very hard not to overpay with the money I have saved, but the money is needed for the building works, it would be nice just to throw £2k at it and drop it to under £95k. I have the money! I might save an extra 5p a day in interest!!

I am an impatient baggage. I could do with winning the lottery, note to self, start playing the lottery.
