But in realty, acting is only his secondary profession, he was the world karate champion many times (6 springs to mind, but I can't be bothered to google it), a level of proficiency that I couldn't ever dream of achieving.
He is actually a good actor, IMO, watch Firewalker, bit of a Raiders Of the Lost Ark take off, but the performances and chemistry between the stars is better than the more famous film, IMO. Many so called "great" actors have dialled in terrible performances, DeNiro after about the mid 90`s, Eastwood in some of the many so so films he has been in. Just to be watchable on camera is in itself a big achievement/talent.0 -
I've been called worse than that. Local youths call me 'Mr Burns' after the grotesque character in 'The Simpsons'“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0

I must admit that I have only ever seen him in Way of the dragon, possibly very early in his acting career and/or not much scope to act in that particular role. I did think of downloading some of his movies onto my Ipad, because I am running out of things to watch on the train going to work, I might give him a try.
I agree with you about the 'just to be watchable' comment, I have seen some awful American horror movies where the acting is on a par with a bad school play. But watching them is actually educational, because until I had seen acting that badly performed, I didn't actually appreciate how good actors generally are.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

My wife's Hackney house sale fell through (although I think that another bid from a different potential buyer is expected next week) but my flat sale in Battersea seems to be going fine, the buyer has returned a few times to measure up for a kitchen and bathroom replacement. She is going to gut the flat and completely update it.
I'm expecting to exchange end of Feb and complete on the first day of the next tax year, that enables me to use my CGT allowance (already used up this year B&B'ing shares) and also hang onto the £100k CGT for another year.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

If you can just do "behaviour" on camera that is watchable/believable and not too distracting you are way ahead of most people, just watch home movies/phone footage to see how awkwardly the average person comes across. Lone Wolf McQuade is a good starting point, but he started acting in `68 according to IMBD, and had a lot of roles in the 70`s, consistent starring roles in the 80`s, a film a year nearly, and roles into the 90`s and 2000`s (he is now 76) AND a TV series that ran for 8 years, that career puts him ahead of many actors considered "good"! He is pretty iconic on screen, a real presence, the people that can do that (Eastwood, Stallone, DeNiro, etc.) are a much smaller group than the group that includes really good supporting or character actors.
I forgot to mention the master of just "being" or "behaving" on screen, Steve McQueen, he and Norris were mates I think, and no doubt Chuck picked up much information from the acting (or non-acting) master.0 -

Just teasing really, what with all the anger that was flying about on the thread.......0
