The reason I went through past posts was simply because I remembered reading it and as it turned out, I am glad that I did.
When the poster in question attempts to insult me and refers to my opinion as "petty", I do not see anything wrong in pointing out that only six month ago, that poster had exactly the same opinion as I do now.
Yes, people do change their minds on a regular basis but when I change mine, I wouldn't be arrogant enough to insult people who now have the same point of view that I had a short time ago.

George if you feel insulted by the sentence

"It's incredibly petty to claim it's not free due to the fact its paid for by taxes"

Then all I can do is apologise, although I think you do need to be more thick skinned when you are on an internet forum.

As I said, I like you also had the same petty belief that the NHS wasn't a free service. I have however changed my mind and now champion the argument that it is 100 % free.

    It wasn't that comment.
What I perceive as an attempted insult (I have said attempted on a couple of occasions as I didn't actually take it as an insult but I can't think of any other reason for the statement to be made) was this comment

You remind me of those people who when arguing with the police yell "I pay your salary".

It is the same argument. If you say that you pay for the NHS then you must also say you pay for the salaries of the police.

Maybe I could have worded it better but I do find it very annoying that people who say that because they are tax payers they pay for these public sector organisations. Its too simplistic

Well, by an indirect route, I do think that tax payers pay for the wages of both the police and the NHS employees as our money is given to the government and they collect it then divide it and use it to fund the services required to keep the country running.

Saying that however doesn't mean that I would get into an argument and yell "I pay your salary" at any policeman, doctor, nurse or surgeon.
