Milk crisis and wanting to get back on the NSD wagon tomorrow meant a spend of £1.99 today

NSD again today. Guests tomorrow all catered for with no shopping. Yay.
Should really get some flowers to brighten the house tomorrow, but you can always guarantee if you do that they will bring flowers themselves. Hmmm. Decisions decisions.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

<<working through freezer stocks out of necessity (top drawer won't fit back in - needs defrosting)>>!
I have two new drawers for my freezer, and they are still in their wrapping paper in my spare room, as my freezer is far too full to defrost.
But the top drawer one I took the old drawer out and just put the frozen stuff back in without the drawer as it was so difficult to pull the blooming thing in and out so my freezer is now two drawers and a top shelf:) I am slowly working my way through it though.
Back in the 1960s my fridge had a top frozen shelf that held a packet of fish fingers and at a squeeze a packet of peas :rotfl: No freezers around in those days just a fridge with a tiny box at the top with a drop down lid.Great finding stuff that had been forgotten in there though:D

Planning a NSD apart from church donation, which I never count as "spend", now I just got to hope that DH plays ball and does not visit his favourite DIY haunt! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

That is exactly my current situation - and I regret to say has been for a little while. The eureka moment came when the things at the back of the top shelf were in danger of becoming encased in ice and part of the fabric of the freezer!
GC related - I'm hoping for no further spends in the 8 days to payday - and will be back in with a budget of £75 again next month.House fund: ~£5000 / £10,000_£1000 emergency fund #208 - £151.74/ 1000 _

We have started meal planning for the next 7 days but need to finish that tomorrow. Tomorrow I want to go through the freezer and see what we have in there, we often put leftovers in from HM meals so that may cover a few meals this month.

Not a NSD after all, as I did most of the shopping for church soup lunch for next Wednesday, my turn again as I won't be doing any during December.
£4.48 spent on personal groceries and £10.83 for the church lunch. I will add my own stash of dried split peas for soup, but really it is not bad a full meal that serves 12-15 people, with soup, cheese, fruit, buttered bread, tea and coffee. Ok I still need to get bread which will add a couple of quid to the lot. There is always a lot of leftovers (never of soup, mind you! We all love our soup!), which we share. I let the bread and cheese go to others because I don't eat either but tend to take back the leftover fruit, and the leftover milk and spread stay in the fridge for other groups' use.
£6 for a bottle of wine to take to our Vicar's discussion group tonight, not a grocery budget expense so it will go down as "entertainment", for want of a better word. He and his wife always provide lovely snacks and most of the time wine for all as well so it feels right to contribute once in a while.
Have a good evening, all. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
NSD for me today and I am aiming for it to stay that way until Wednesday having just seen the weather report!
Re freezer chat, I am aiming to run mine down so I can defrost it, although it doesn't seem so bad after hearing all that! Once defrosted I'll be able to pull the fridge freezer out and dust the pipes behind. This should make it run more efficiently and so cheapertook out sausages today, finished the sprouts and used more of the spinach yesterday. It's getting there. I stupidly topped it up after emptying 1.5 shelves!
