I have been following the thread by email and sticking to my budget but not managed to post.
Still under budget with three days to go- but planned till Friday. Oh yes! Been baking, freezing, planning and batch cooking to sail my way through under budget. Been using YNAB to record all transactions and saving big time in other areas too. Will be switching to October thread on 1st October. Good luck everyone!October 2016 Grocery Challenge £76.11/250/

Evening all
Back from my holibobs and had a fantastic time
Had to do a fresh stock-up at the weekend so spent £8.49 at Morrys and £40.04 at Al*i. Fairly big delivery today from Mr T to top up stock cupboard and get some of their offers - managed to use a MOC so total was £44.33.
I'm still under my reduced-for-hols budget and hope no more spends this month fingers xd.
Good luck to all those still trying to keep in budget, or at least limit the damage, for the rest of September.
Hope you all have a great Wednesday

Spent £1.56 in Lidl this eve, pleased with what I got. I now have £2 to last till end of month. I have loads of salad stuff and a stuffed freezer, so should be ok. Would like some beetroot, but that's only 40p.0

All money left from the grocery budget has been spent on food and drink which normally would come out of the entertainment budget paid by oh but he was strapped for cash this month so I paid. Calling a truce as I have spent £214.44 and I refuse to spend a penny more before pay day on Friday. All that clutter used to be money0

£11 spent at the county town market this morning, on black mustard seeds, garlic, bread, fruit & loadsa lovely veggies, which brings me in just under my original budget. As long as there are no disasters tomorrow - and the mince is already defrosting for the chilli, and we have plenty of all the other ingredients, and I shouldn't be too pushed for time - I've done it! So here's the thing. £2 left in the budget 'till Saturday. Not a problem, except Sainsburys have only gone and released a range of vegan cheeses today - I want to run down the road shouting Yeeeeeeee haawwwwwwww - seriously - I'm not even joking. Wensleydale with cranberries - OMG give me that cheese - NOW. So I really don't know what to do. I know its just a bit of cheese, but I really was a big cheese addict and have missed it so much since turning vegan - most vegan cheese is rank. I can't believe I'm actually typing this - I think I've gotten a bit competitive with the challenge and want to come in on target, but I've already phoned customer services, and got a list of stores stocking it. #WhatAPlonker #iReallyNeedToGetALife - help.........0

Good evening
My aim for this month was £600 (going from 26/08 - 25/09), I've come in at £674.50
And once again, takeaways are our nemesis. Horrendously, way worse than I'd formally want to admit, but better than previously.
Right, onwards, off to the October thread.GC - March 2024 -0
