Nsd yesterday, enjoy the weekend everyone. Xx
  • I'm not sure of my total so far - I put the cash into a separate purse, so will check later. Did the weekly shop on Sunday, then on Monday (my dd's 1st day at secondary school), she had dinner at a friend's, so ds and I went to ffoods and bought some junk for dinner as I couldn't be bothered to cook. Why do I never remember that my first day back at school is knackering?!! No spends since then and doing weekly shop tom at aldililly, but oh might want to go ys shopping later today, so I may pick up a few things. Hopefully he'll pay if so!! ;)

Meal plan for the month going ok - moved some things around, and had a lovely dinner at the outlaws last week, so that was a meal saved!

Operation freezer-clear not going so well...

    PG x
Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. Only food, not toiletries. Jan £87.97/£100 Feb £0/£100
Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending
  • Had a few mini spends - have updated sig. Spent slightly over half my budget already, but hopefully I will not spend until Thursday and it should right itself. Got a load of veggies looking more than sad in fridge, so will try and cook them up for freezer and maybe meal plan (famous last words).
  • I am shocked at how many little spends I do!

    8.45, 4.17, 24.78 and 5.56 this week.

I was feeling confident that I would come in under budget and have a enough for a take away at the end of the month. That feeling is quickly turning into panic that I wont even see the month in......

    Signature updated
  • Bought 4 more packs of veggie sausages today and 4 chilled soups for lunches but all were free with coupons and one of the soups had 70p cashback so I actually made a profit! So updating my total from £11.12 to:
    £10.42/£40
    Mortgage received 21/12/2018
    Mortgage at start - £261,980
    Current mortgage - £260,276
Saving towards a loft conversion first, then to smash the mortgage down!
  • Big Lidl shop done today, only my 3rd day spending money this month!

    Running Total
    Pet Food - 15
    Home/Toiletries - 60
    Food - 80

    £155 / £350
    DFW - Paid so far - 0% CC's - £2 / £2000, £27 / £1200, £32 / £1800,
Owe on Paypal Credit - £1920
  • NSD today!

Mind you, after going to the market yesterday, I had to hurtle off to care for my mother who'd become rather ill, and have been there most of the time since. I did buy a pack of leeks, an onion and a potato yesterday to make her a leek & potato soup, but that was her money, not ours! Thankfully she turned the corner this afternoon; the fever burnt out, and she started to take an interest in food & drink again. And when I got home, there was still everything I needed to make supper for 7, undisturbed from yesterday.

I'm away tomorrow, but the girls will pop down to the market to stock up on last-minute fruit & veg as it closes down. They always seem to get the best bargains from the young greengrocer lads! :D
