Can you put me down for £300 for September, gives me £70 a week.. my ex moves out on the 12th, so I should come under this but only adjusting down by £20 from this month, as I'm intending to bulk buy so good after he leaves!

As I'm meal planning (started a few days ago) I want to have 10 NSD next month, would like to only shop twice per week, one main shop and one perishable top up shop - but baby steps as they say!

Thank you for the thread and links to recipes, I made the luxury cauliflower cheese last night and was lush, I added some bacon to it but certainly went down a treat.

Many thanks for opening the thread.
I'd like my amount changing for September to £300 please. August went really well, but the pantry and freezers are depleted; and we're going over to see my sister (who's just moved to France) in a fortnight so I want to allow myself some wriggle room.
Love these challenges, I've really got back into frugal habits, and the challenge, coupled with menu planning is working so well I want to continue :):)

Please could you put me down for £530? It's only a little less than last month, but I'm clearly not going to hit my target there! DS3 goes back to uni at some point in the month, and I may manage a few days away in my van, but I have plenty of packet stuff I can take and the odd meal out as a treat would come under my "entertainment" budget of £50, which I only spent £15 of in August!

    Hi

Can I please join for this month (which starts on 26th Aug for me), with a 300 GBP budget. This is for hubby and I and DD (she's only 7 weeks, so only needs nappies etc at the moment as am breastfeeding).

I think this will be more than we need, but it's a starting point.

Have already done a stocktake, so I know what's there :)

Also did what I call a 'fridge bottom' meal yesterday (using up bits from the fridge/freezer close to, or just past their date). A pie using leftover bacon joint, a tin of chicken soup from the cupboard, an onion, some previously chopped and frozen peppers and mushrooms, and a pack of puff pastry I had stored in the freezer. With mashed potato. Was tasty, and there's enough left over for another meal today :)

I was actually quite surprised by how much food we actually have in the house! Still, I'll need to pop out today and get some bread and milk.

I'm going to try for £350.I've upped it because the Co-op is closing down here on the 17th, so I am intending to see if they are going to have any good bargains in near the end.

  • Please put me down for £250 again. Will come in well under budget this month but it may well be a fluke so I will keep to the same amount for a few months and see how it averages out. Thanks
