Project Mortgage Neutral Begins

I set myself 3 jobs for today away from work
1. Order vacuum bags - done
2. Finish shredding - the pile is a lot smaller, slowly getting there
3. Sort through manuals and store
The smallest spare room is so close to being organised and once the vacuum bags arrive I can finish the other spare room.

Sounds like you've made huge progress and are track for Monday's goal. Hope you have sun where you are. It's a gorgeous day out in the garden here.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Manuals done and in a box file, eventually I am sure I will separate them out but for now I am happy. I have done a few more bouts of shredding, it will be tough but it should be finished by the end of the day. I had just put a casserole on to cook (plenty more for frozen ready meals) and was about to head out for a walk when the gardener turned up so plans have changed a little. I will probably use the turbo trainer for a bit before dinner, wash up and then go for a walk and get away from the house for a bit. Undecided whether to go by the sea and listen to the waves or stay more locally and listen to the birds.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2731.07/£2700

I went the long way round towards the sea and heard the birds in the trees as I came back to mine, win win. I have one lot of shredding left to do, just letting the machine cool a little and it will be done before I go to bed

So yesterday was a success, I finished the shredding before I went to bed and covered ll the jobs I wanted to do. I have set aside a few jobs again today1. Sort my cupboards and drawers and be ruthless with the clothes!2. Food inventory and meal plan3. Basic clean of the houseI am going to do a bit of work today to keep some sort of routine and if that and the jobs go well I may walk into the other spare room but if not I am leaving that fun (!) for the weekend.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2731.07/£2700

Food inventory done but losing enthusiasm for meal planning. I think I have enough main meal stuff to keep me going through the weekend and can get away with just buying milk and crackers or bread.

Do you know you know yet whether you will be deployed after the weekend? Otherwise I would stock up when you do shop to minimise trips out.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I drove to Morri$ons and there was a huge queue so I turned my car around and went to L!dl, same there. Popped into town to get the toiletries I ran out of this morning then tried a small tesco nearby, no milk and I only had dregs left. I went to a small independent shop nearer to me and they had plenty and a deal for two so I got them as they had a long date on them. I also treated myself to some mini eggs, I am going to try and make some chocolate brownies tomorrow and crush them on the top. I don't know if it was people panic buying for the weekend but I just couldn't face queueing and didn't want to be that close to people I don't know. I will probably need to go out again on Monday or Tuesday as I will be out of all fresh veg by then and will stock up a bit more then.I haven't been quite as productive today, I just couldn't find the energy. It seems my vacuum bags are arriving tomorrow rather than Tuesday so I may be able to spend a bit of time in the other spare room tomorrow instead. I should be on target for finishing Monday.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2731.07/£2700
