I am shattered, I cycled just over 22 miles in the end. 11 ish on the way out, on the way back I stopped at a friend's for a cup of tea and a breather and I think it was a mistake to stop. I missed the turning back onto the cycle path but knew there were other entry points so decided to keep going on the pavement but it narrowed so I thought about going on the road but it is quite a busy one, fairly soon I decided just to walk as I didn't want exhaustion to ruin a lovely day. Eventually I found a way back on to it and got back to the car albeit a lot longer than planned. I came home to rinse the suncream and flies off me and then went to meet a friend for a swim. The loch was absolutely stunning tonight, there are buoys that we swim between so each time we got to one we bobbed and chatted, a lovely way to end the week. Needless to say I will not be doing any exercise tomorrow as my body needs a break. I am going to a distanced surprise 40th birthday for one of the girls so I will replenish today's calories with the planned barbecue.I might do a very short bike ride on Sunday morning but it will depend how I feel. I have a sports massage booked for 1130 so I won't be doing anything after, I am meeting a swim friend for tea and a scone, she is really suffering with anxiety at the moment so I hope she will be ok to meet me.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Yesterday's surprise 40th was a lovely afternoon and evening. Her family arrived to decorate the house in the morning while she was out and then we arrived throughout the afternoon. We didn't distance as much as we should have but equally we were very sensible, I haven't been with all my girlfriends since February and it is the first time we have all been together since one of our groupd had her daughter. It was all going well, I braved the train to get there so I could have a drink and at 8pm decided to have a look at the times to get home only to find the last train had left at 1922!!! Tht will teach me not to check earlier, I was offered a bed by one of the girls but I really wanted to get home to my own bed so ended up paying £3 to get the bus back, it takes a lot more time but once I warmed my feet up in the house it was definitely worth it.This morning I have done my daily financial checks and OPd £30 to my smaller mortgage, it is the first time this one has been OPd since 2011 when I moved out of my first house. The daily interest adds up to around £28.60 across the month so I decided to round it up. In the grand scheme it doesn't make any difference to my MF date but at least it effectively means my standard OP is paying the capital. I now own 49% of my house so not long to go until half of it is mine.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

It sounds like you've had lovely and very very active few days. Well done on the OP.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I am trying to make sure I don't do too much each day at the moment as I keep exhausting myself by doing too much so turned down a long walk today but now I am bored! I have done some pottering in the garden and have some more to do, have written some quiz questions for my family quiz on Wednesday, cleaned my living room and have a swim planned for later. I think it is going to take a while for me to find the right balance but as I am in work next week I am trying to end the week not too tired.

Meal planning is definitely my least favourite job but it makes life so much easier when I do it, I also save money.

I went for a bike ride with a couple of friends yesterday, 23 miles so the furthest I have been and I am definitely a little achy today. I have abut 12 miles tonight too on a ride with some club members to help gain confidence on roads (yesterday was all cycleways or very quiet roads). I am really enjoying it although suspicious I need to up my calorie intake so I am not wiped out for the following day.Unsure what I am doing today although I am getting the washing done so it can be put on the line. Today is another of those days that I don't really have anything to do so struggle to get motivated. I have my work routine for next week so need to get organised with meal planning.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Just ordered my first ever fruit and veg box, a small one from a local shop for £10 which I will be collecting on Monday. I will already have meal planned the meat for next week so it will be a bit of a surprise to find out what I will be having with my meals.Today is a day for pottering and sitting in the garden until it cools down later and then I am going to go out on my bike. I forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer early enough so I will either be having a tuna salad in its most basic form or going to the chip shop. Tomorrow will be an early start to make the most of my last day before work on Monday, I am going inland for a loch swim and then probably a bike ride local to there or somewhere on the way home.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
