Just looked at the photos again. Whose property are those trees on? If they're not on your property you possibly have a bigger problem coming your way than £1150.....

Even more so if any of them have TPOs.
  • (Neighbours planted them years ago apparently when the estate was new, but they've just never been looked after)

But if they are not on your property I would suggest you talk to whoever owns the land before doing anything!

Nah not on my property, just overhanging and getting the council to do anything would be impossible too! Ambiguous tree ownership...
Hmm. Ambiguous meaning you don't know and haven't checked?

I'm afraid you can't just cut down someone's trees without their permission. Yes, you are entitled to remove growth over your property but even then, I think you're supposed to offer the cut material to the trees' owner.
  • Quite a mound of chippings left behind the house too.

Whose land are they on? Or is that a rather novel way of offering the trimmings to the tree owners?!:rotfl:
  • Hahaha, thats behind the house, on presumably councils land! I wish I left the damn things alone now.
