I hate busy nights but tonight's was kind of a good thing.
Turned up for DS's Options Evening, it was chaos! I'm sure farmers herd cattle better! however looking at DS's new secondary school, they offer more Options wise. Why they now do it at Year 8 I don't know. It was good though that his German teacher rang the praises of DS.
Went to DD's parents evening, nothing mentioned to us by DD's teacher regarding the move. They rang her praises and confirmed she's improved in leaps & bounds based on the practise SATs tests.
We spoke to DD's headteacher about the Year 6 Prom, he has said that he would love for DD to come back then and will make the PTA know, he mentioned that the new school hadn't been in touch with them, which is strange but is ok for DD to go to new school for Open Visit.
Busy weekend this weekend, both kids have the opticians on Saturday and I'm meeting my friend (with DD in tow) on Sunday, I need to try & catch up with my lovely friend & his wife before we move.0 -
Sounds like both children got great reviews!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Yay! It's Friday, at last :j it's been a long week.
DD is walking home from school today.
I can buy my lunch today as I've got money left out of my allowance.
Forgot to mention last night, I received a letter from Children's Services asking if I want to take part in free childcare trial for DD, not only has it come at the wrong time due to the move but DD is coming out of needing childcare.
Three weeks to payday, love the Moneyhub app I downloaded, it really makes you think about spending. I think I will pay for the year when my trial runs out.0 -
Feeling frustrated!! The buyer wants a roofer to come over and have a look at the roof, it should be ok but it feels like more delay and worry.
I just want to move! don't they know that?!?! :rotfl:0 -

DH said tonight that the survey mentions loose tiles and no air vent. There is an air vent, so I think the surveyor didn't look properly. The buyers lost their previous house and if they're not careful we're going to be hanging on until the end of term (ie July) we'll end up putting the house on the market again!
I really don't want to lose this house, I love it and it'll be good for us as a family.0 -
Morning and happy Saturday
DH & the kids are going shopping later for non-birthday related stuff, DD told me :rotfl: it's my birthday on Tuesday and I think the kids are more excited than me
Spoke to my friend (chair of the school PTA) and explained about the Head agreeing to DD coming back for the Prom, so all that's in hand.
DH going to pop in and see the EA about the buyers and see what they say, I think now I've slept on it that we may be panicking for nothing but it helps to talk to them.
The solicitors rang DH to let him know that they'd received the forms back and that everything upstream is now ready.
Kids have the opticians this afternoon and a visit to the pub to watch the rugby later is in order.
Other things this weekend include:
Meeting my friend for lunch tomorrow with DD, DS I don't think wants to come, I'll show her the new house too.
Order the kids uniforms, this is the last weekend I can do it.
Food shopping - should be fairly cheap as we've got most bits
Meal plan
DD's homework needs doing
Need to sort out plan for next week, including weekly allowance
Ironing needs doing
Back later with an update.0 -
Morning,
Busy day yesterday, food shopping wise I managed to get enough to last the next two weeks, should only need a top up.
Took kidlings to the Opticians. DD still doesn't need glasses but DS's have changed slightly, first time in two years, so new glasses needed £47 in total.
Subway for lunch, which was nicer than the originally proposed KFC.
Went to the EA and got a copy of the structural survey (buyers permission granted) a whole lot of worry for nothing, the issue about the roof shows the surveyor didn't look properly as DH took photos to show there isn't the problem they thought. These have been passed on to the EA and if needed they'll pass them on, just waiting to see what the roofer says.
The other main issues were:
Some Missing tiles and some ridge tiles need repointing
Render missing from hardstanding wall
Windows old and need replacing
So all in all, as the house is 80+ years old, I don't think that it's too bad.
Sorry if I'm boring at the moment over the house/move. Just it gives me something to look back on in a few months to remind me we did it.
Found an Easter egg yesterday, it was just on the floor by a bench outside a shop. I did wait to see if anyone came back for it but no one did, so when we've moved I'll share it between the kids as I don't like Creme Eggs.
On to today:
Meeting my friend for lunch
Sort dinner out for tonight - DONE
DD homework - DONE
Lunches for tomorrow
Order kids uniforms - DONE
Meal plan for the week
Finish the ironing - DONE
Weekly allowance for next week
Back later0
