  • Im glad you're making him pay back the debt PMO2, kids eh who would have them  xx

I think this time he needs to know the consequences of his actions. Last stunt he pulled, he was 8 or 9.

Thank god DD is a lot tamer :rotfl:
  • The title says it all lol What a weekend!

So despite number 1 son nearly bankrupting us :shocked: & yesterday being very stressful, this weekend was rather rather nice.

Parents came down armed with goodies - washing powder, fabric softener, beer, wine, chairs for the garden, sweets for the kids & (whispers) raspberry gin and fever tree tonic for mum & me. Once the initial anger settled with DS we went to the local town for a wander & went into Poundstretcher, I got kitchen roll, multi surface cleaner & bleach for the toilets and step-dad paid :)

Several trips to the local pub, paid for by the parents too :T love them to bits, they really spoil us.

Went to Tesco & spent way too much again but the stocks are building up again and we should need very little now until payday, may be just a mini shop (I hate 5 week months )

We returned the kindness with beef casserole Friday night, BBQ last night & a fry up this morning :T

The rest of today has been ironing, cooking chilli for tomorrow and going for a walk. I went to Tesco but forgot fruit juice *Doh!* so will need to get some tomorrow for the kids.

Situation with DS is being sorted and DS is really trying to make amends.

I would be fuming with your DS and be reducing pocket money until it was all paid, assuming he gets pocket money.

Re car parking, do you not have a park and ride in the town where you work? That is normally the cheapest way of parking. I actually pay nothing as I use the park and ride about 1 mile out of the city centre and walk in when the weather is nice. My employer subsidises the park and ride tickets so I use them when the weather is bad or I am in a hurry to get home.

  • Hi,

Have come home from work as I feel lousy, feel sick and have a banging headache. One of the logistic managers suggested Lemon & Ginger tea as that helps if you're feeling sick, so I've got some.

Wonder if it's just the stress of the weekend or a bug?

DS missed the school bus this morning so had to go via normal bus, arrived at school at 9.45 *rolls eyes* luckily I had some change in the house that he could use.

    Things happening this week:
DS has cadets tonight and Wednesday
DD has guides on Wednesday - doing a BBQ apparently
DD has a Yr6 trip on Thursday
    I'm out Friday
Saturday my car is booked in for a service
    Sunday Father's Day

Nothing much else to report, the bank account is plodding along. DH's expenses go in next week, so that'll help as it's quite a big one this month.

No we don't have anything like that, buses to Wokingham are every hour (so DS found out this morning) so driving and the hop on the train.

Hope you're feeling better soon and it passes quickly x
  • Still feeling fragile but not as bad as earlier.

Have managed to find and gone through the savings accounts and changed addresses over. The only one I couldn't do was DH's ISA.

My Principality one has the highest interest, so I think next year, I'll use this for the emergency fund and car fund.

As the first half of this year was busy and the rest of this year is going to be busy, I'm going to restart trying to build the accounts up again next year. I'm hoping to use one to skim off and use for the OD fund.
