That's awful, can you try calling them or your card company?

Hope you manage to sort it out x

Delurking to say my brother did this when he was around 9/10- he stole my mums purse while she was having an afternoon nap one day, bought on a Santander and barclaycard. When she found out Barclays refunded but Santander told her point blank no. The punishment went on for a long time as you can imagine!!! Think she was out by a couple of hundred in the end. With my brother (who is autistic) he gets so fixated on stuff, especially games, that when he wants it he can't understand why he can't just have it!

    Oh no!
Hopefully get it sorted out with Cap One.
Friends have had this happen as all it takes is the kids to see dads (or mums) details for Xbox Live and boom!
My friends have theirs locked up tight so the wee (and not so wee) ones cannot get access to that part of their account.
Mostly, it can be sorted out, the downloaded software removed from system and costs reimbursed etc. Xbox and PSN are used to this kind of thing happening...
    Hope you get it sorted

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

  • Morning,

    Thanks everyone for your replies.

Xbox won't refund as he bought Points? Something in their t&c's say no. Capital One no, as termed as bought with permission as his cc is stored on the console.

So......DS is grounded and has to find ways to pay 'his debt', so jobs around the house, selling some of his stuff to help pay for it, earning money etc.

This isn't the first time he's pulled a stunt like this.

    Sorry to hear that...
Sell his stuff on e-bay and make him work off what he owes and remove or change CC so he cannot do it again...

That's the plan. He's quite remorseful this morning.
  • Was it something done over time or all in one spree? I can sympathise with your situation, mine have done similar in the past and I would be left wondering how they could be so selfish, especially when they were raised to know right from wrong and also were fully aware of our financial situation...

It was done over the whole of May, bits each week and because DH only gets a statement monthly, he didn't pick it up until yesterday.

I said to DS yesterday that we're working our butts off to reduce the debt and no he's put us back by months.

    Blummin kids.
