Hi
I apparently spoke to a Halifax call centre manager, I had sent in all the correspondence I had, but the insisted they were following the rules that Visa had given them. Which stated I must have a refund date email from the company. I pointed out they refused to do this. Halifax said all I could do was go to trading standards. I did this weeks ago and haven't heard from them either. The amount was £130. Think I'll change banks. I don't think Halifax will do anything more0 -

Did you file a chargeback claim or a section 75 claim? (Did you pay by debit or credit card?)
What you could do is ignore the bankruptcy and file a Goods Not Received claim.0 -
I hadn't seen this thread and posted elsewhere. I ordered a phone about a week before they stopped trading and yesterday called Clydesdale Bank (MasterCard) and was told that they could not do a chargeback as Skrill were responsible. I contacted Skrill who in turn said it was nothing to do with them..
Back to Clydesdale and I changed tack, saying that I wanted to make a claim under Section 75, but after being passed through various departments got told again that they could not process a chargeback as they had no way of knowing about Simply Electronics as they were dealing with Skrill (and it would just shows as Skrill, something I am not 100% sure until I see a statement).
Emailed Clydesdale (because I was getting fobbed off on the phone) and got a response basically stating the same as what I was told on the phone (but still avoiding the initial question regarding making a claim under Section 75).
Thus onto Skrill again, who said in writing this time that it was not their problem and to speak to the merchant. I pointed out (again) that the company had wound up, and got another reply stating to quote my reference to my card issuer and they could process a refund. I haven't called up yet with this, but I suspect I will get fobbed off again by Clydesdale....0 -
I bought a camera lens from Simply Electronics, like many people thinking it was a UK company.
I actually (eventually) received the lens, used it for a while.
The lens developed a fault, and a local company wanted £150 to repair it. So I went back to SE and asked under warrenty for repairs. After MUCH palaver I managed to get a returns form, and posted it off.
Chased it for a long time, and eventually they dispatched it back to me.
Then it ended up (according to tracking) in France, in customs, with some paperwork errors that required sorting. But then, they stop trading. No contact with me, no contact with the courier, no contact with the customs in France.
The courier can;t help me.
Customs won't help me.
And I can't get anyone at Simply Electronics.
I can't get my money back from a credit card because a) I no longer have that credit card, and b) It isn;t a purchase that is lost, but a return from a warrenty repair.
So, there's £600 of lens sitting in France and I have no way of getting it back!
Any ideas gratefully recieved!:mad::(:mad:

Courier won't do anything.
