My English concessionaire pass was issued in Yorkshire (Metro).
I have now moved but have used it in many parts of England including the Isle of Wight.
When I lived in Yorkshire I could get reduced priced rail tickets on local Metro trains.
Where I live now I cannot get free travel on the trams, but if I had a locally issued card, I could.
Local authorities can make their own decisions regarding any extension to the national rights.0 -

If you have moved permanently then perhaps you could get a new card from your own LA?? Worth a try.0 -
Yes, thanks, I intend to do so when this one runs out next year. So far it has not inconvenienced me in any way, as the tram is not particularly useful on my usual routes.
I was just pointing out that whatever the national rules, local authorities can make their own add-ons, though they cannot offer less than the national rules.0 -
I certainly don't want to wish my life away, but when I get my free bus pass, my car will not be going shopping with me!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Been there done that and would not want to go back to it. One of the main reasons for having a car so one can be a hunter-gatherer looking for best deals and saving money which isn't going to earn anything like 10-30% interest in a savings or bank account.
However if I lived 10-30 miles away from a supermarket maybe I would go on-line0 -

I have both, sometimes only the car will do the job though either due to weight, bulk or both, and that is just the shoppingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
If you live in a London borough, don't forget you can get an Oyster 60+ card - free travel on tubes, buses and trains in Greater London. Cost is £10 and lasts until you reach age 65 and become eligible for a London Freedom Pass. Link: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/adult-discounts-and-concessions/60-london-oyster
It's £20 now Marcon. But still the equivalent of a block of gold. :cool:0 -
My birth date is July 1954 (female) and I can't get a bus pass until I get my pension which will be May 2020.
I don't drive and the buses are quite expensive where I live so not happy I have to wait so long for a passThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

Partly because of budgets, partly because we are living longer, retirement ages have been increasing.
In a blatant piece of vote buying, the previous part-time mayor of London started a separate card for over-60s in London only. From your comment, I'm assuming you don't live in London.0
