OK - so now we're getting somewhere

Was it approved used from them ?

Have they charged you £600 to strip the engine ?

Is it full Jaguar Service History

Have you contacted Jaguar CRC (Customer Relationship Centre) ?

Unless there's more to the story (either it's been outside the dealer network or you have an attitude with them) they're normally quite good at sorting issues and explaining in far more details what the issue is and the potential solutions

    Jaguar CRC. NOt interested.

Something has triggered this - I speak from experience having gone through a rough purchase experience from a now defunct dealer who lied through their teeth about my car.

The Jag CRC reps are quite active on https://www.jaginfo.org and realistically if they can't help and your dealer is being elusive then something's wrong that you're not telling us (and therefore a CC company is unlikely to accept either)

Personally, I'd be a bit wary of a near 8 year old, diesel car (when purchased) that had only £24K on the clock.

Maybe but Jag's Approved Used scheme is fairly watertight

In fact OP - my car 6yo but 13m 'old' to me and when I bought mine it came with 2 years warranty http://www.jaguar.co.uk/quality-section/approved-used/index.html

Did this standard start in the 6 months between you buying yours and me mine or is there something you're still not telling us ?

It was approved used from Rybrook jaguar Warrington.
No we haven't got there back up, and no they didn't sort this one out.
So why isn't it still under warranty?

The car is out of warranty by 6months. We have option of new engine costing us over £10.000 if jaguar did it.

I did say at the beginning that we bought car 19 months ago. We have proved by an independent garage that car has a hole in cylinder no 5. What we need to try and prove is was there a fault when we bought car that caused this.

But Jags Approved Used warranty is 2yrs - why have you taken it to an independent instead of Jaguar for what is a major issue that should be under warranty

    Something's not adding up

Did it not come with a 2 year warranty, as do all Jaguar AU cars do?

They only offer that now when this car was bought it was under 12month warranty.
