No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries August 2016

Just sorted through my entire stash of products of every type(makeup, skincare, haircare, fragrance, everything).

Every. Single. Item.

98% of it is still sealed and i haven't been storing anything in any type of adverse conditions so it should be good when i come to opening it.

The remaining 2% is stuff i am using just to make sure I'm clean as that's all that matters right now while we don't really have a normal bathroom, otherwise i could just jump in the shower, come out fresh and clean 15 minutes later and do whatever, but it's a bit more complex than that right now. I wanted to start trying to wear makeup every day(or at least do a bit more to my brows since i get them waxed frequently) but there is no guarantee that i can do any more than use a face wipe at the end of the day

I know i said before there were certain categories i wouldn't include but i have a UU of a dove roll on deodorant. I'm including this as i have had this since at least christmas, if not before, even with daily(sometimes twice daily with the hot weather we've been having) use so i am very glad to finally see the back of it now!

I will compile a list of all of my products i wish to UU at the start of next month on the new thread, depending on what's left.

Have updated this post to include some unexpected UU. Had a few INs:

Johnson's Cotton Wool Buds
Dove Beauty Finish deodorant - I bought this to take an holiday as I think it will be more effective in warmer climes than my current roll-on.
Dark & Lovely Cocoa Butter Body Lotion - 2 large bottles for £1 total from Poundland so couldn't resist unfortunately.

Johnson's Cotton Wool Buds - Had 2 left which I dispensed into new tub.
Korres Aloe & Provitamin B5 Conditioner 40ml - I got this mini from TkMaxx as I wanted to try the brand. I like that it's a brand which uses a high percentage of natural ingredients in its products. Unfortunately this wasn't a very good conditioner for my thick wiry hair. I think it's just the wrong product for me but it doesn't put me off the brand as a whole.

An empty shower gel bottle has gone into recycling but not counting it as UU yet as have dispensed the rest of the gel into smaller bottles because of its awkward packaging.

I'm doing some packing soon so I will be fishing out all the almost empties to take and hopefully use up abroad.

Despite the odd temptation, I haven't bought anything from the Clearance shelves in Boots for weeks now as many of the items are things I have in abundance - definitely not tempted to buy any more hand cream or shower gel.

Garnier Intensive 7 Days body lotion - WBA, HG product

Eucerin Hyaluron Filler day cream - WBA if on offer, but not paying full-price when there are cheaper creams I like just as much

Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser - this was a GWP. I would not buy as it isn't any better than a cheaper one (I think this is my feeling about most products from Clarins)

Currently packing for moving house on friday, the plastic tubs of toiletries were too heavy to lift so they are in smaller cardboard boxes now, but omg, ive accumulated far too much. Sorted for the next 10 years. Now got yo move it all, which will be a nightmare. :-/ cant move into our house until 9th sept earliest & have to be out of ours friday, stuff going into storage & we are homeless until then so stayinh with friends :-/ just dreading moving it all, oh my word :-/

Anyway a couple of uu to report:

TBS white musk sumptuous silk shower gel 60ml- WBA would use this again happily if i got the gift set again, i like the white musk smell and the gel is a good consistency & lathers up well. Lingers on the skin too.

Avon naturals apple & oat protein conditioning hair spray- WBA lovely Apple scent and did the job. Think this is long discontinued though.

Gemzie - that is awkward timing with the house move, hope it all goes OK. I was thinking about you yesterday when I was flicking through the Avon book, they currently have those pots of hair mask in the sale brochure at 80p each, there were two types.

No7 Quick Thinking Wipes - WMBA, I only get these with a voucher as the full price is insane, they do remove a good amount of makeup but to get it all off would take two plus they do drag rather than glide. I just buy them for camping trips really.

Just a quick post ladies. Will try and catch up with the thread soon. So, 4 TAs and a UU at weekend. TA the three Ted Baker eyeshadows a friend gave me as I was getting no pigment from them and TA a Nyx eyeshadow that had smashed.

UU: Clairo Root Touch Up. Was ok but won't buy again as there was only enough product to just about cover the grey.

INs too:-

Went into Manchester yesterday to return some clothes to Primark. Went into Boots. Bought replacement Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean cleanser (had voucher for 100AP). Got small bottle of Garnier Micellar Water cleanser free - you get one of these free on any skincare purchase over £5.00. Also got 2 x After sun for my hols. Buy one get one half price.

Went into Superdrug and bought 2 x Dr Paw Paw lip balms - £2. off at the moment and 2 x Superdrug sheet masks BOGOF.

Pleased with all purchases. Was given some Britney Spears perfume samples which smell vile.

I have a UU/TA for my 7 by Autumn list

TA OPI Push and Pur-Pul, applied on Friday it was streaky but not as bad as previous time I used it, but it was badly chipped by Saturday lunch time and hadn't done anything that would have made it chip. Decided it wasn't worth keeping it so chucked it.


1 - Benefit Fake up Concealer Full sized - This is really horrid so greasy can no longer bare to use it daily trying for once a week just to get rid
2 - Benefit Watts Up Highlighter sample 2.5g. - Stopped using this daily as have other things I prefer, trying for at least once a week to try and get rid.
3 - Urban Decay Scandal Lip Gloss mini 1.7ml. - The applicator is starting to feel rather dry, don't think it will last much longer.
4 - UU - Benefit Porefessional mini 7.5ml. - Have also UU a mini Lancôme primer (WNBA for either item), have another one in the stash may try using that up as well.
5 - TA OPI Push and Pur-Pul Mini - OPI mini polishes - target changed to any of my OPI mini's. Hopefully I will get rid of more of these, I have way too much.
6- Urban Decay Eye Shadows, I would like to UU at least one of the following all have hit pan already. 50/50 and Fix (from the Naked on the Run Palette), Baked Cowboy (from Shadow Box), and Minor Sin (single).50/50 is going down quickly currently being used as highlighter. Again, I think I'll change this to absolutely any eye shadow - need to reduce. - Eye shadows definitely going down another one hit pan recently, hopefully one will be gone soon.
7 - Crabtree & Evelyn Avocado, Olive & Basil Body Lotion 250ml. Has been open for ages still not UU as really bad at remembering to use body lotion. - Have used a couple of time this week, had to remove the pump as it failed, probably a good sign that its nearly done.
